There is nothing called a Wagner deck.
Wagner wickets almost seem divorced from the conditions and just occur randomly a lot of the time, so a Wagner deck would IMO be a really flat wicket that offered other bowlers little and made his ability to take random wickets every so often a low to mid 30s average comparatively really useful.

a wagner deck is a slow flat one where long spells, banging it in, ugly plans (like the short cover catch tactic) and reverse swing are required to take wickets.

and he can genuinely bowl well so you're being a bit condescending to him there.

Would this team have the most combined tons any NZ test side has ever had?

Must be getting up there if it isn't

Haha I was just thinking this the other day actually. I'd be really surprised if it wasn't tbh. I remember the series against India where Williamson made his test debut and we had about 12-15 test tons combined. Tendulkar alone dewarfed NZ.

i don't think any team with wright/jones/crowe or late fleming era teams had this many. maybe if you put in neeshes couple ahead of santner or go back to dan's last test in the UAE to get his tons.

before the 90s a lot of kiwis played for ten years and got about 40 tests so the hadlee era is no chance

That is where NZ will miss Mark Craig. Guptill, much like his mate Taylor was always good for the odd dropped sitter in the slips.
