I don't know much about cricrate but I don't think Jermaine Blackwood is the 12th best batsman in the world.

He's averaged 62 since early 2014 and most of the big knocks have been back-to-the-wall.. he's new though so one bad series will drop him from the top 10.

He made a great 90-odd to get that high, but he just got 2 ducks in the Aus test that just finished so will be plummeting.

The rankings are set up to increase the points awarded to people playing in terrible teams.

The thing is, even though they were better than him during that time, their pre-2014 is not that great. Sarfraz benefits from basically not have much history here.. he has a more volatile rating compared to those two. Pre-2014 is not weighed that much since it's back in the past, but it still has some effect.
That and the runs Sarfraz generally gets are in tougher match situations because of the weak Pak batting line-up.

Two of the 90+ scores (out of 4) he made during that time period were made in SL and he came to the crease at 140/5 and 96/5. Those two innings skyrocketed his rating.
