***Official*** Sri Lanka in New Zealand 2015

Not Terrible
These two openers have developed an understanding between each other. It shows in their running between the wickets.
Oh wow I just checked the stats and they actually average 50+ as an opening partnership. Our most successful in the last ten years of more than five innings together.

Oh I accidentally searched test ODI t20 combined stats. Which makes it even weirder.

The commentators always cr*p on about golf, in a smug way. Just seem arrogant and entitled, like they spend every other day chasing a little white ball around, or thinking about it. Even Rod Latham watching his son was apparently him thinking about whether he could get 9 holes in tonight. Smith always cr*ps on about McCullums horses, as if McCullums half got his mind on what his horses are up to all the time.
Mate, they've had to fill c. 20 hours of airtime so far this Test.

Given how long Rutherford stayed in the side for his 150, and given that Latham and Guptill appear to have an understanding when it comes to running between the wickets (and that's got to be worth 3-5 runs per partnership), it looks like Guptill is here to stay as a Test opener for at least a couple of years. If he goes big again in this series you can lock it in.

Seeing all these white Dunedinites in the crowd with 4 layers of clothing on makes me appreciate how cold the Sri Lankan dudes standing in the slip cordon all day exposed to the wind must feel.

speaking of all this gambling, the odds on skyliner making a happy post must be astronomical.
True, I love test cricket but am despairing at the strength of it at the moment. WI going down the gurgler and the talk is of them disbanding and playing as individual nations, and in this match the soporific pitch and the half rat power bowling are making me long for the ODI's. The apparently under-rated and beloved by Fleming trump card A Mathews out to a leg side strangle for 2, Mathews opens the Sri Lankan attack with his wobbly dobblers, Kane on auto-pilot coasting along before boring himself out, Guptill sensing that this is like an 'A' cricket match and prospering....urggghhhhh.
Sorry to depress you happy punters who have been riveted to this scintillating contest.

Strong candidate for **** post of the year this, and there's been some strong competition.

Agree that this pitch is rubbish though. The kind of surface that should get a citing from the match ref. Uni Oval just gets lower and slower the longer you play on it, really struggle to see us winning this.

Was bordering on hyperbolic, but you're deluded if you think that's up there with the worst drivel this year tbf on the poster.
