Lakmal has bowled some pretty good spells by my memory.

Sucks that Prasad is missing though.

No they aren't. Lakmal has been garbage anytime I've watched him.

Is there a reason Sri Lanka have bowled here btw?
They've been stitched up again by all the talk of a green seamer. Because Baz is a useless tosser it's been a great ploy: rave on and on about greenery and grass cover, get the opposition to insert you on a clayton's green seamer, a sheep dressed up in wolf's clothing.

Always have to suspect it's more that they didn't want to bat, rather than actually wanting to bowl first.

Do New Zealand play more Test cricket these days or are their best players just going through purpler purple patches?

5 of the top 7 years by New Zealand batsmen have been McCullum, Williamson or Taylor since 2012.

Every domestic side bowls first at Uni Oval too. You set 500 and it's not completely safe from a 4th innings chase.

We got a lot of test cricket from 2012-2014 (30 in 3 years) which definitely helped.

NZ quicks have spells where they look promising, but overall are mediocre trundlers who would interest no other international side not named Bangladesh or West Indies.

The way that Matthews is working Guptill over doesn't make me optimistic for his chances against Aus later this season.

Both. Also flatter home pitches.

Is your next prediction that the sun will rise in the east?
Hey there's always the chance that on pitches with less bounce, Guptill's inability to correctly judge length won't be as severely punished. Yeah, I know it's a dumb idea, so what.
