Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

This piece sums up what I was trying to say earlier about cricket in England and Australia. It's just not part of the mainstream culture. There is a great disconnect. This is not the case in SC. When there was a WC going on in Australia, hardly anyone seemed to care, whereas a WC in Bangladesh and the whole country will talk about nothing else.

Cricket is and always will be the Summer Game in Australia. It's immensely popular here. There will be small crowds for the WI series, largely because they're ****, and because they really lack drawcard players. Even when they were **** in the early-mid 2000s, they at least had Lara and Chanders. Lara was a massive drawcard here, he used to bring people through the gate just to watch him bat. The Windies back then were like India and SL have always been when they toured here - you knew they were ****, and would be properly trounced, but they always had a few blokes worth watching like Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid, Sanga, Mahela and Murali.

Cricket South Africa's Facebook page has been hacked, posting spam *** clickbait. Entertaining TSTL.

My favourite thing to come out of it has to be this comment though:

Nay I don't believe the CSA account was hacked, all lies.they know exactly what they are doing because they hate us blacks and dispice us even when they select their squad majority are whites and only 2 blacks in a country where majority is black but their minority when playing for our national teams,,,,....CSA hates black people same as SARU ,,,,...overlooking our black players for white supremecy
Genuine racial concerns aside, I, uhh, don't think that CSA is intentionally oppressing black people with *** tips and presumably virus-filled clickbait -- even if the earlier links were pretty damn racist.

Hey guys.

I have a big set of cricket balls of varying ages, but mostly old, that I use for practices. Recently, they've all become soaked with water. Rainy conditions, wet pitches, and the balls are now heavier and don't bounce as well as they should. They feel off. It's definitely because the leather has absorbed all the moisture.

Anyone have any experience with such balls and trying to get them back to good condition? Or any ideas on how to go about drying it? The best I've come up with is trying to place them in front of a heater or something. I'm researching on google for solutions now, but figured I'd ask here first.

Not much you can do. Even if you dry them out completely they'll remain soft.

Two Test teams racking up 400+ in the first day's play on the same day, don't think that's ever happened before

(Looking this up beats actually watching it...)

John Morris. Test debut remembered for Gooch's 333. FC match where he scored a double hundred remembered for 501* by Lara. That must irk him.

Imran Khan is visiting India. Rajdeep Sardesai interviewing him and Kapil. Highlights:

- Kapil saying Wasim Akram is the best fast bowler produced by sub continent. Imran fuming while keeping a straight face.

- Somebody asks who is greatest between Sobers and Bradman. Imran grudgingly says "people say Sobers is the greatest all rounder"

- Imran says Dhoni is a player who plays on difficult times in difficult conditions. WTF.

- Rajdeep: "Question from a lady". Kapil: "Can't be to me"

PS. Is this the thread for such random posts?
