Australian Domestic Season 2015/16

Midwinter

State Captain
Half way mark in the Shield
Next round starts 3 Feb 2016

WA batting too good for Tas with Agar and Paris doing well, Bancroft back in the runs
SA rolled VIc in 2 1/2 days only needing 3 bowlers who used the overcast and humid conditions to their advantage.
NSW got home against Qld who made a sporting declaration. Somerville picking up a fivefor

So far there has only been one draw, when WA hung on at 8 wickets down against the Vics.
Vic and Qld have both won games after declaring 100 runs behind.

The SCG debacle with Vic being awarded a win against NSW has Vic on top of the ladder

NSW and SA have both won 3 games Vic,WA and Qld two games and Tas on the bottom with one win

Runs
Tas Dunk 585 Bailey 543
SA Ferguson 478 Ross 334
WA Klinger 453 Agar 354
Vic Dean 418 Handscomb 362
Qld Renshaw 395 Henry 291
NSW Cowan 376 Maddinson 253

Renshaw has made a good start with Qld, Tas batting is a 2 man band, Doran not doing well averaging 19, Ferguson having a good season, Cowan as well

24 centuries so far, 3 doubles - Ferguson 213, Klinger 202no, Lehmann 205

Bowling

SA Mennie 24 Worrall/Sayers 16
Tas Bird 22 Fekete 17
NSW O'Keefe 17 Bollinger 15
Vic Ahmed 15 Boland 13
WA Hogan 15 Paris 14
Qld Hopes 14 Steketee 12

Paris has been good in his 2 games so far, Bollinger and O'Keefe the NSW mainstays but not picking up any bags of wickets
SA pacers have done well so far.
As almost all games have had a result perhaps the spinners haven't had the last day wickets to ply their trade. After O'Keefe and Ahmed, Agar, Zampa and Somerville have 7 wickets each.

9 fivefors so far, no bowlers has more than one. No one has taken 10 wickets in a game
Best bowling Boland 7/31 v WA, Paris 6/23 v Tas

Odds for Sketetee and Fekete to bowl together in a rep game have lengthened.

Glad Worrall is up there, needs to be playing Internationals just for how slick and ***y his run up is.

tbf Carters has only had the gloves in this last game, but him and Whiteman have been disappointing with the stick.

(as has L0000ders for my Shield draft, but I didn't have very high hopes for the **** anyway)

All three SA quicks having a solid season, can't remember the last time that was ever the case. Even when they won the Shield, was all about Gillespie and McIntyre. I mean, NSW are going to win but still.

Am wondering whether it's time for SA to think about a post-Cosgrove world too. Has been no better than solid (heh) since coming back from Tassie.

Cooper is averaging 19,after 5 games, and Kelvin Smith averaged 17 after 3 games, and you are thinking of dropping Cossie who lost ****loads in the off season, and is an additional bowler,he has averaged a touch under 30.Alex Keath is averaging a 100 in grade but has signed for AFL,I back Cossie to come good in the 2nd half.

Ok fair enough,I am backing him 2 come good.
Don't think NSW will win, poor averages,Rohrer,Henriques,Carters, and Sandhu, carrying too much baggage. Also Abbott is averging less than 15 with the bat, poor no 7 I would say.Copeland for Sandhu.

Batting is definitely weak at the moment. We won't get any more gimme declarations. Ed and Patto have been good, but the rest meh. Definitely need a couple of guys to come back after the big bash firing or we won't make the final.

Also short an opening bowler. Candu and Ab00tt are handy first change and no.9 bats, but not much more. I don't think we'd play them both atm if we had another option. Just wish we had another genuine quick.

The boi Sommerville having a break out performance was good. Probably won't play again until Nafe leaves for NZ, but has probably ensured we play two spinners as default even when one of the big two are missing.

There's no chance of Cummins being back this summer is there?

Should be back for the post-Big Bash Shield rounds I'd think unless he's having real trouble recuperating.

Even if he does, I bet NSW and CA go down the whole 'managing workloads' path and make sure his first game back is during that South Africa series serving as the entree to the T20 World Cup in February, or even worse the World Cup itself.

I heard he not back to the IPL.
Yeh I think we might have to make some harsh judgements soon,Henriques,Carters who is now the keeper phew,Rohrer,Sandhu,Abbott with the bat have been bloody awful, time to make some calls surely there are some inform kids in grade, and our 2nds side doing pretty good.
