Ugh, Guptill's judgement of length is so awful. One of the many reasons why he'll never make it.

The thinking behind it is that if a bowler breaks down you can't replace him, so why shoulde batsmen be different. Evens out the balance between bat and ball a bit, but also makes cricket a less fair game overall imo, so yeah not a fan of it.
Match fitness and managing loads is part and parcel of international sport.

There's also the fact that players were getting runners for things like cramp etc, and there was no definitive way to prove genuine injury.

Seriously though that Hayden tweet is awful. He presumably doesn't have an issue when some random local cricketer who isn't State level is used as a sub fielder, so why is it any different? Are massage therapists not respectable people in his opinion?

Almost wonder whether there's a need for a couple of umpires in the 3rd umpire box. When you're isolated and put on the spot one can tend to overthink things (as I believe Llong did there).
Nah. Pretty soon every remotely controversial decision is going to be subjected to a level of scrutiny befitting evidence at a murder trial. The Lyon decision took about five minutes, and it was wrong anyway!

We don't need to measure everything down to the nanometre.

Yeah but you can't really ever predict when a player is likely to break down with injury. Obviously it's different if a player goes into a game under an injury cloud. Admit it's not black and white, but on balance I'm not a fan of the change.

Maybe Hayden and Langer can sit Grant down and tell him what they're trying to build here.....

I just think back to a couple of TMO decisions in the World Cup, where one of the ref's was clearly wrong with their interpretation of what had happened, and the other was able to talk them around to the correct pov.

There's going to be injuries that don't allow you to bat though.

It's unlucky if you get an injury but it's not unfair.

As a sofa umpire I tend to get the line of LBWs right the majority of the time but miss loads of inside edges.
