Australian Domestic Season 2015/16

Thats a fine effort from ACT. No idea about Tas vs NSW game..

Vic, do you have an opinion on the futures opener Hancock?
Good player, was a really good junior who hadn't gone on; played a fair bit of 2nd XI cricket last year for Carlton.

Moved to Prahran, hasn't looked back. Goes to England every year and makes heaps of runs.

Cheers Vic.

Gee that seems like some partnership from Ferg and Jnr Boof. I don't know how the pitch is, but I was surprised that Xavier was overlooked and you'd think his tightness could have been utilized.

Vics could benefit playing Christian for his bowling but it is hard to work out who to drop.
Well, Finch is the most likely candidate.....
I really like the decision to play Handscomb. It is unlucky for Ayre but really Christian is a good enough Cricketer to be playing Shield Cricket.

The way the team selections have gone, we really could have a decent enough 7th team (lets go a 12 round Shield season home and away!)

1 J Silk
2 N Larkin
3 C White
4 D Hughes
5 P Forrest
6 A Turner
7 T Paine
8 T Copeland
9 J Holland
10 B Hilfenhaus
11 L Feldman

12 C Boyce (and so many others).

Disappointed for Ayre but playing Christian gives the Vics an extra bowler, in addition to Boland, McKay, Tremain, Ahmed,Maxwell and Stonois.

Hopefully this will mean Finch won't bowl himself.

Oh and Patto will play on the third and fourth days.

Must be that the long flight from Adelaide to Perth means he needs a rest day.

Watching the highlights of Lehmann's knock, plays a lot like Hughes circa 2008 with a dash of Ferguson on the cut. I sense a total rebuild of his game in the next year or two.

EDIT: That said, seems to have that very rare ability to play low but get on top of the lifters. Is one up on his Dad already there...

Very confident on the back foot for sure, practically a back foot cut highlights reel.

Stoinis putting heavy duty pressure on Mitch Marsh.
Stoinis is putting more pressure on Shaun Marsh than Mitch IMO. Marcus needs to improve a bit on his 61 career bowling average and his 0/105 this Shield season before his bowling is taken more seriously in non-white (haha used to say red-ball) cricket.

We will see just how good Mitch Marsh is as the 3rd speedster when we bowl,Starc has an an ankle fracture.Pressure with bat and ball.

Gavin Robertson said on radio last week that Patto was no chance of being in the XI and was proven correct

I have no idea why he was selected in the squad when he obviously isn't match fit

He has played two shield games and the one day series, Siddle played two shield games and didn't play the one day series

When is he going to be fit ?

Crow eaters are giving it to Tas at 7/600

Ross going at run a ball, three consecutive sixers off Webster and 30 off 8 balls !!
must have had a slow start

Mate, I really like Stoinis but he needs to take a wicket or two if you want him to be considered an all rounder.

and learn to convert. Even an all rounder batting six needs to convert more than 1 of his 16 50s into tons.

Yeah exactly. I think all 4 of the pace bowling all rounders who get talked about, have something not perfect about them.

Stoinis - Not taking wickets and can't convert (solid bat though)
Henriques - Get the feeling that his bowling has taken a back seat a bit
Faulkner - Only the 1 century and while he takes wickets at a great rate, you think he needs to be a part of a 5 man bowling attack not 4 man.
Marsh - Bowling is fine, batting has question marks.

I hope Maddo makes a century today, good to see Dunk continue to make runs.
