Marsh is one of a long line of no-rounders that does frustrating well against us. Ben Stokes at Lords, Philander in 45 all out  etc.

I'd get the operation done now tbh. Far more use in having him fit for New Zealand/Sri Lanka rather than burning him on the West Indies.

Bah. Santner and his overconfidence.... Good nut mind.

Anyone who can seriously sit there and say the kid doesn't have a tremendous amount of batting talent is off their rocker. Give him 12-18 months and he'll be a regular in this test team. Needs to drop the bowling though.

Starc is going to be an ATG. Might be late to the party to say that. But there you go.
The reason I make this statement was actually the ball that got hit for four and his reaction to it. He just didn't care at all about being driven down the ground. He also doesn't care when he beats the bat. Other bowlers, including Siddle, put a performance after each close call. Nothing excites Starc and Ryan Harris before him except for wickets. Those players just expect success.

Satner was very foolish for attempting another four off the next delivery. I don't think I predict great things for Santner from that alone, it is critical in cricket to premeditate some defensive shots. And when you have just hit a premier bowler for four then you pre-meditate defence on the next ball 100% of the time.

In ODIs it is different a little bit, you follow a four with a single. Test matches four then block. Until you get your score to over 80 something and you have been out there for hours, then you just bat.

Don't see what people see in Santner. He goes at the ball really hard and looks dodgy at the crease. Could be useful in ODIs but definitely not a test player. His FCC records suggests as such.

Without the bowling he's competing with Will Young for the post McCullum #5 slot. I know who my money is on.

He looks really hurried at the crease and goes at the ball hard. Will be a candidate for caught behind and so forth. Not really seeing anything exciting about him. But then again we probably don't have anyone better.

Overall this is a very disappointing effort by NZ. Aside from Starc I don't think the other Oz bowlers have been great. Some piss poor shot selection.

why does a family that can't even get a batting average over 35 for a team with a rich history of ATGs get so much masturbation?
haha tbf, Geoff Marsh was more effective as an ODI opener, averaging 39 - higher than Boon or Border. Also, WC winning coach and very popular vice captain who played with or coached most of the current commentators. They'd probably have known the sons from way back, so would be stoked to see them now in the national side.
