Santner as a batsman is a specialist selector's pick really.

You hope they know what they're doing because there's little evidence from a layperson's perspective. It's just going by the opinions of people who know about batting

Funnily enough his bowling is the opposite: He's much more effective than his action suggests he should be.

Santner playing late with a wristy snap is nice. He does look a risk to slice the right arm over quick bowler to slips or perhaps be too late on a straight one from someone Starc's pace, but generally like how he's playing so far.
