**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

But England lost at home to Australia. Bangladesh won at home against India, Pakistan and South Africa, not to mention bowling out South Africa twice for 160, the same South Africa that was blasting 400 runs in India recently.

I am acknowledging that England under Morgan post World Cup have improved. But they are still behind Bangladesh as an ODI side.

If Bangladesh were to play Australia in an ODI series now at home, they would be favourites. And if they ended up losing 2-3, it wouldn't be considered a 'success for competing', but it would be an outright failure. That's the difference between the two sides now.

Well Shehzad coming in was always on the cards. But in that case they should have dropped Sarfraz and played Rizwan as the keeper as now they only have 4 specialist bowlers.

This is such a troll knock from Jason Roy - two nicked boundaries, plenty of edges and plays and misses. Would love to see him make a really jammy 50.

If Bangladesh lost 2-3 to Australia they absolutely wouldn't consider it an outright failure.

Steady partnership but never looked fluent. Roy needs a score here, doesn't look a massively high scoring pitch (280 would be good score) so top order bat who is set needs to bat on.

Is it sensible to announce the squad to SA when they still have a handful of limited overs matches to play on this tour?

I don't really have a coherent argument here but I'm pretty sure 'dressing room' is involved. Eg what does it do to Topley's mindset today knowing that he's bowling pretty well for England right now but Jordan who isn't has just been picked ahead of him for the next tour?

Isn't the squad to SA just the Test squad atm? Pretty sure Topley knows he is nowhere near the Test match squad.

Yasir Shah to Roy, FOUR, it's a four, but not as we know it. That had designs for a single through midwicket. Instead it was a leading edge through third man
25.4
Yasir Shah to Roy, 2 runs, a more intentional edge this time, down to third man again. Soft hands
25.5
Yasir Shah to Roy, 1 run, edged and dropped! A loose poke to a gentle leg-break, and that looked to have taken a deflection off the tip of the keeper's gloves which in turn baffled Rizwan at slip

To be fair to Roy, he does show why having aggressive top order players is vital in modern ODI cricket. Lots of English ODI openers of years passed would have been 50* off 65 and carried on at that rate for a while but he went after spinners and got his SR up into nearly the 90s. Can't do that and play chance less knocks, although he is very edgy granted.

This could be a very very heavy defeat. Something along the lines of England scoring 290+ and Pakistan getting skittled out for 140. I am concerned for Azhar Ali's captaincy now.
