Moreover both the sides are known for aggressive cricket, and McCullum is the most over-aggressive test captain I have seen. Still without any rain delay a place with WACA's reputation doesn't even look like producing a result. This is disappointing for a cricket fan.Yeah that's really it. These two sides - if fully fit - should put up some really good, contested cricket but the pitches for the last year have just been dreadful.
It's not much surprise we get dicked when the ball moves two inches sideways either off pace bowlers or spinners when these are the tracks we play on.

Totally.Chris Lynn would be the ideal middle order replacement if he could stop getting all these weird injuries.
Lost revenue. Produce a pitch that's even slightly sporty and Australia's batsmen will line up to get themselves out, costing the ground 2 days worth of revenue. You have to be suspicious as to the motivation behind it
I live on the Goldie and IIRC the weather in the weeks leading up to the Gabba test was generally hot with rain on some nights.
In other words, perfect for growing grass (as indicated by the state of the outfield and the rest of the square) and I remember thinking beforehand that the pitch might be pretty sporting
will be occupying the bar from days 1-4hey d3rm0 are you going to the bar near the game next weekend?
members or plebs?I'm there for Days 1 & 2.
Indeed - the people of WA need to be rewarded with more tests, they really got behind it. Brisbane not so much.Admittedly not as much of a concern in Brisbane given the cumulative attendance for a Test tends to be in the region of 30 people.
Needs more likes for the vernacular alone.Would have seriously considered Can-Do to Funky it up at Radelaide, if the deck is as dry as they're saying. h00p it under lights, tweak 'em during the day.

The whole tour factoring into account the warm up fiasco on a sub standard pitch has had a series of factors stacked against New Zealand. Some of them minor. No we don't really care about that tour match being cancelled all that much. To some bigger factors like day 1 of the WACCA being played on what Mark Nicholas was clearly a day 3 pitch based on the lack of green grass compared to past years. So New Zealand are getting a warm up game at the WACA AFTER the test match.
You know it's great that we have had neutral umpires before the explosion of social media. I can only imagine the social media backlash to cheating umpires. At least the umpiring has been good. Try touring Australia in the 1980s when you had all of the above shananigans and blatantly cheating umpires - batsman got sawn off left right and centre. Neutral umpires has been the best thing for cricket since the invention of the helmet. .
And brings his mate Bracewell from this match along with himWould be nice if Boult turns up for the next test.
Bracewell is more than likely a myth. At least, there's more evidence against him than there is for him.And brings his mate Bracewell from this match along with him
