if it rains for the next 2 days, I would rather they play an ODI or T20I on the last day than complete this test. It would make much more sense for those who turn up to watch too.

I know it doesn't, I am just saying it makes more sense. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. We had a game that was rained off on all but two days in Chennai too, against NZ in 1994. It was so pointless to watch both teams go through the motions on day 5 after no play was possible on days 2, 3 and 4.
