Taylor's greatest innings. I know the SL knock was gun, but the pushing through his form issues, making it through the Starc spell and a big daddy hundred. This is his best.
Yeah I have to agree. I made that post earlier that he might as well throw caution to the wind and attack but he hasn't done that. Looked sketchy at the start and when Australia tested him in certain periods, but after the initial period he's been vintage Taylor, a far cry from the batsman he's been lately.

the fundamental difference is he's 35 and openly talking about considering retirement every day. fair game, fair thought imo
Absolutely. If anything though the danger will be the selectors are also thinking 'well he's made fools of his critics before', and so will be retained past when he perhaps should be.

But without that extreme pace that he was able to intimidate the Poms and Saffers with he is a much less dangerous proposition. At his age he isn't likely to get it back. If he doesn't get a bag full or two against the Windies questions will well and truly be asked.

My god. Did Brayshaw just say Watling at 6 could be a weakness Australia could expose?

I'll ask again why Brayshaw becomes a gormless, disrespectful **** when he enters a cricket commentary box.
Even Healy shouted that down.

came in a touch and he'd already plonked his foot forward so he had to play around it. was he still taking that ridiculous off stump guard?
Looked like it hit that crack down the middle. Came back and stayed low.

I think Starc is starting to get into consistent test bowling, despite his figures this dig. He's looked the shizz

No one's scored a double v Australia? Wow that'd be a feather in Ross' cap, and bet Martin Crowe is sitting somewhere absolutely beaming at this. Brilliant.

They're allowed to I think.
Yeah, just checking suggests "(catches, runouts or stumpings) or boundaries". Although, my understanding was that in relation to "catches" it's only for the grounding/whether it carried as opposed to whether it came off the bat or pad (ie. the situation in McCullum's 1st test dismissal). If they are allowed to check all that would make more sense imo.

I know shaoib and lee were quick as **** in bursts, but were they ever "touching 150kph every single over second day in the field" kind of quick?

Definitely not Shoaib, he was a 4-5 over burst man with new ball or a vulnerable batsman. Also too fat. Lee, dunno but I doubt it. This is unreal fast bowling.
