I learnt a painful lesson about writing off Mitch Johnson, but there is night and day between 150k+ MJ and 140k MJ.
the fundamental difference is he's 35 and openly talking about considering retirement every day. fair game, fair thought imo

Taylor's greatest innings. I know the SL knock was gun, but the pushing through his form issues, making it through the Starc spell and a big daddy hundred. This is his best.
100%. The 150 at Manchester was also incredible, but this tops it when you consider where he came from at Brisbane, scoreboard pressure, 3 top-class seamers (albeit on a flat one), the manner he's scored them etc.

If Johnson's dropped for the next test it would be a bad decision IMO, even if Pattinson or Cummins were fit.

The bloke has been the most consistent bowler for Aus for a couple of years (outside of Harris). I know people say he blows hot and cold but I actually think he's boon pretty consistently decent through England and the UAE.

They're probably confused because usually they do only use it on review by a player. It shows the usefulness of umpires using the technology to assist with their decision making in the first instance. They should be able to do the same with other decisions as I think Smith is suggesting.
Yeah I'm pretty sure they already can. Don't think there's anything in the rules that say they can do it for only certain things. It's just a convention thing I think.

he averages less than 40 away from home last i checked but when he goes big away from home it's amazing

-manchester with anderson and broad dealing to us, flynn losing his teeth
-india when we couldn't play spin for ****
-sri lanka after being told it was his last test as captain and we were coming off being crushed, he dragged that sorry lot behind him with spud kane finally showing life signs and tastle of all blokes supporting him
-the UAE where he had no idea against yasir and we were getting pumped so he just sat there cutting everything because he didn't trust his defense
-this, coming off the team and his own humiliation at brisbane staring down 559

what a monster

he won't be. haze will likely be rested for siddle. but if siddle performs again, there'll be calls for him to stay in the team this time, so then what do you do

My god. Did Brayshaw just say Watling at 6 could be a weakness Australia could expose?

I'll ask again why Brayshaw becomes a gormless, disrespectful **** when he enters a cricket commentary box.
