Someone explain Kane Williamson's career strike rate to me please.
He isn't naturally a quick scorer IMO -- not a guy to be overly aggressive or force the pace. So when he was debuting and establishing himself, he was pretty slow.

Now he's striking at 70ish on a regular basis as a result of being too good for this level and playing every ball on its merits. And it just happens that the merits of each ball generally aren't good enough to stop him from playing a good shot.

With KW you never get the feeling that he's making a concerted effort to score quickly or be aggressive. He just bats, well, normally. And all of a sudden he's 50 (65) without anybody noticing.
