people rip on guptill for his technical flaws but he has to face the new ball music and did his first job well.
Yeah Guptill was fine, solid enough and was out to a good ball that exposed his still too-hard hands; he's done plenty to address that but is never likely to completely iron out that deficiency.

NZ desparately need a regularly fit Bond or Milne paced bowler for test cricket....I swear I can't remember the last time when NZ had a genuine fear factor to their test bowling since bond (who barely played tests mind you)

kane and my boi watling tonning up will make me feel much better but so far khawaja tonned up on me, craig got belted (predictable here tbf), guptill went cheap and ross the boss...had that.

not my game. WPWB will probably step on a landmine or something.

Would probably just prefer Bond back as bowling coach to remind everyone (but especially Bracewell and Henry) to pitch the damn thing up.

Milne fit enough to play test cricket is still in the fantasy category right now.

Australia are such a different beast at home. They have played these conditions magnificently. Can't see NZ bouncing back from here.

Can't just ask for a Shane Bond like bowler every generation. They are so rare.

I just want us to fight. I nailed my colours to the mast long ago to Corey. I would have loved to have watched him out there today. Technically he is not a great player but he fights for all he is worth.

Let's fight this out. If we lose we lose, but lets show some courage. If watling or Kane can get going tomorrow then we have both craig and Bracewell who can give them a stand.

If we get to 8 down well yeah....

His knack of picking up wickets for no apparent reason would have been handy too.

HAha,

It actually reached comical proportions because all the ladies and women's libbers complained so the response was to even things up by showing good looking guys in the crowd. The problem was guys have no idea what a good looking guy actually is and secondly it was he 1980s so the guys they picked were all cashmere jersey wearing yuppies dangling bmw key chains.
This is awesome
