With all that said I'm not trying to criticise physios or anything, I just think their role is overstated in terms of what the public thinks they can do. They can't just give Southee a rub down and fix him if he's actually injured.

The work they're doing really is diagnosing the issue and deciding if he should continue, and if the answer is yes, how best to manage the overs/pain through the rest of the match or series.
Do comms still go crazy over "magic spray"?

Yeah look I like Craig but no way in hell is he doing as well as Jeetan Patel has in county cricket. Patel being a) a flake, b) scared of fast bowling, and c) not a slip fielder arguably make him a worse option than Craig for the role in the team he's got anyway, so feel free to make that argument, but he wouldn't be as effective as a county bowler. No way.

I kinda think he actually pretty much always does. It's just that in most cases his hand-eye is good enough to whack a few boundaries. On that SA tour though it plainly wasn't and so that really shone a torch on how he bats.

Craig is a pretty bad suit for a county championship game in April too. You'd want a holding spinner not someone who bowls a long hop an over.

Southee out, craig bowling like crap, boult turning hot and cold, inconsistent bracewell and neesham....hasn't even been 1 and a half days.

Ugh just take Craig off already. Give Baz or Latham a bowl, they can't really do any worse.
