This bowling round the wicket doesn't impress me. I thought before the series started that Boult would trouble Smith by going left arm over. Bowling left arm over stops Smith from walking in front of his stumps, and the natural angle will test out his judgement of what to leave and what to play. If we stick with Boult bolwing left arm around then good night nurse.

it's because of a very slight, very slow bit of reverse he was getting, which does actually make sense. Just not when you're bowling short wide rubbish.

Bracewell has the measure of Smith that pull shot notwithstanding, at least early doors before Smith starts firing.

400 in a day within reach. And a Khawaja ton too. That's not as bad as letting Finch score a double, but it's still pretty bad.

I've noticed something about the boult and southee combo recently....during england and here today....VERY down on pace. Thank you Ian Smith for pointing that out with Boult especially who's the quicker one out of the two

Just switched on to check how things were going. Bad bowling or just a cracking batting pitch?

Mostly bad bowling. There was a touch of movement early, and of course there's decent pace and carry. Everyone but Southee has been awful.

Warner did play fantastically well though.

Decent for batting but the bowlers have been total sh*te
Cheers guys.

Figured when I saw the scorecard it was just one of those pitches that bowlers don't have a chance.

In the 5 or so overs I've watched since there have been 4 or 5 absolute gifts of 3s/4s with buffet bowling.

Haven't seen much of Khawaja outside of the Ashes tour he played. Looks a much more confident player now.

I dunno if the pitch maps would be horrendous, but there's just been no bite to anything we've done. The stuff halfway down has been dropped there not banged in there, and I didn't see a tremendous amount that threatened stump height early or nickable lengths.

All in all, looked like a bowling outfit who were keener to feel their way into the Test series than make some big statements. Which is bloody disappointing.
