Nah England haven't played in Pakistan since 2005-6 when the attack was Hoggard, Harmison, Jones/Plunkett. Reckon Anderson might have played a few ODIs then but that's all
Yeah just checked, it was Steyn I was thinking of in 07.

Still think it's pretty awesome that he's got that Asia average below 30 though. It's been obvious he's far less home-conditions dependant for ages now, and for the last 5-6 years he's consistently produced the goods away from home.

England favourites to win this match now. 1.80 to Pakistan's 2.50.

Looks like we should get a result as well. I just don't fancy them chasing a right lot.

Bringing in a batting allrounder in for a bowler, and bringing a batsman who half of CW thinks is roughly England's third best available for a faltering wicket keeper really makes the batting lineup so much better on paper.. so why do I still have such little faith in it?

Because it's so makeshift and they should all bat at five

because we have 3 bats we can probably rely on and a guy who will bat at 9 who is better than probably all the rest and none of the others have convinced on tracks with less turn and this one may be going square by the time we get to day 3.

There's no way on earth Rashid is a better bat than either Taylor or Bell, as one of those won't be the 3rd reliable one. In fact I'd rate all the 8 above him in the order as better batsmen.

I see Misbah has opted for his favored tactic of slapping a massive six to shatter the spinners confidence, again.

I went for Taylor alongside Cook and Root and left Bell out. He may come off but he hasn't looked comfortable against the spin like Rashid did on day 5 last week.
