I have really enjoyed watching the Pakistan test side over the past 2 years or so. They play proper test cricket giving the format it's due respect. Very unlike the flashier Pakistan sides of the past.

No doubt there will be some idiots calling for the heads of Cook & Bayliss as and when we lose this and, in all probability, the next one by a country mile.
fwiw I have more sympathy for the current crop of youngsters than the apparently world number 1 side that went down 3-0 in 2012. Quite how our mess of a domestic structure is supposed to prepare them in any way for this sort of challenge is beyond me. Any more than it does for Mitch and chums sending it down at 90+ mph.

On the bright side, at least Ian Bell's ability to produce a career-preserving 40 remains undiminished by the passing years. 8-)

I won't be calling for their heads, we are a work in progress and this winter is as tough as it gets for them. All I wanted this winter was someone else other than Cook, Root, Broad and Anderson carrying the team. Apart from Wood we haven't seen much from the rest as of yet. Still time though.

I think it is time for Buttler to be dropped and Bairstow takes the gloves, I would have dropped Bell too but he probably saved himself here so the question is is it Taylor or Hales in for Buttler?

Top 7 having Ali, Bairstow, Stokes and Butler is so poo. Really need some Ballance (I know he's not on tour) and Taylor in there. No sense in having 4 seamers with 2 spinners if it's going to make the batting so weak. Yes a lot of the bowlers are allrounders but proper batsmen are desperately needed atm.

Well i'd have had Ballance here and playing as his style is suited to the conditions. Probably wouldn't pick him for SA now and wait till next summer as I think he may have the same problems as earlier this year out there. Taylor is the unlucky man but after the season Bairstow had he was in front and deserved his chance.
