Sri Lankans / Cribbage: What do we know about Malinda? He a legit allrounder or a part timer who just happens to be playing the Windies? Runs and wickets here.

Ramdin is such a ****ing dumb ****. One of the worst cricketers in the world.
Droppable shot IMHO. He's been off the boil for 12-15 months now since having an excellent couple of years on the sidelines. It's time to bring Dowrich in.

You can't be having that from a senior player against the oppositions gun bowler just when you're forging a partnership to get you back in the match or even ahead of the game. Senseless.

Who can we say was got out by excellent bowling and not a loose shot or piece of stupidity? By my count just Hope and Holder.

Pathetic.

Decent bat and part time spinner. As with many Lankan part timers, they become better once they keep bowling in test matches. Jayasuriya was wasted at this sense. If Jayasuriya debuted post 2005, he would have been a major spinner for SL.

I've barely seen him play at all but I think he's been picked purely on the strength of his batting, with his bowling just a bonus. He doesn't always bowl in domestic cricket when he plays which is probably a fair sign that he's not really a proper allrounder, but he's done well so far and he does look an okay bowler from the little I've seen.

As it stands, the IPL is incredibly profitable for the BCCI in spite of the fact that it conflicts with the English season and Australian off-season test tours > many of those countries' best players being unavailable for the IPL

Bottom line is that the only way the BCCI will agree to change the schedule is if it makes them more money and I fail to see how Eng/Oz can influence them further in this regard unless the BCCI believes the availability of all players will make for a more attractive product
It barely affects the ENG season to be fair, just the early May tests which the ECB always tends to play the weakest team if two teams are touring ENG in a summer. IPL is over long before the main tests in July/August/September

The country IPL affects the most is West Indies in that it played during the primate months of their international home season. This year was a perfect example of it with WI having one of their biggest money earning home series vs ENG & IPL was going on & by default all their stars where in IPL - totally unfair to WI.

Now that the dumb cricket champions league is scraped, there is a possible window open their in September/Oct where IPL can move to and ease the WICB.

While I understand why one can say its a droppable shot, one has to feel a bit sorry for Ramdin a bit overall in his slight decline in batting form which hasn't been 12-15 months mind you.

The amount of stress he had to deal with as WI captain - with the selectors giving him crap teams, the lack of trust he must have towards the WICB for unfairly removing him as captain in a victimizing manner for his perceived leadership role in the India tour pull out and fact that he as senior player is very pissed at the new pay structure - he is playing like a man that has a lot on his mind.

Pretty sad to watch. Obviously teared up when he was talking about how the current players don't really give as much of a **** as before.
