**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

Major face palm moment when two commentators sit and comment on Pakistani players without any historical perspective or insight and one of them is a Pakistani commentator.

Comparing why Malik has played 34 games compared to YK's 100 without any sense of the different test careers they have had, how Malik came on as an off spinner..

I know PEWS hates him but I'm a fan (at least more so to keep Shehzad out)

But he is a great example of Pak management doing something right for a change. They played him in a lot of FC games, for Pakistan A, they have a lot invested in him. He played in Sri Lanka as part of Pakistan A, scored a ton, that helped him get selected in the test matches in Sri Lanka and of course the famous third test hundred which might not have happened had he not already spent a month in SL earlier. If anything, if this works, it will hopefully make Pakistan do this sort of thing on a more consistent basis, place emphasis on these "A" team tours. It's almost as good as international exposure and can do a lot to improve your game.

Yeah I like him too.

He's shockingly bad against spin though, which is why it's been brave selecting him.

...I don't know what I expected.
Matches in UAE seem so different to cricket any where else. I was thinking about it but couldn't point to why. It's not just that there is no crowd (tests in Pakistan don't have crowds either). The weather just doesn't change. It's like indoor cricket in a sense. Cold and soulless. I prefer it to no test cricket of course but it is a bit getting used to seeing tests in UAE.

But he was quite good against the SL spinners though. In both the A tour and the main series. Plus he looks far more comfortable against Moeen than he does against Wood/Anderson.

I'm a fan of Masood as well... Was very impressed with the 70 odd he got vs SA on debut. But weren't there allegations of nepotism? Something about his father being part of the board?

So putting away a full bunger means you are an excellent player against spin does it?

Boy he is such a bad commentator, no idea why they keep using him.
