haha, well that's putting him at the other extreme. He was always sharp. Not really express but definitely sharp.I'd question the speed gun. He was always pretty pedestrian paced.
uh no clearly you haven't watched his early career then. He was obviously no Shoaib Akhtar but I find it easy to believe he'd have been 150+ when he was younger.I'd question the speed gun. He was always pretty pedestrian paced.
Actually I think he was probably at his quickest from the mid to the late 90s rather than early in his career. His run up had become smoother and his action more compact (by his standards) by that time and obviously he had bulked up in comparison to his early days which helped him get quicker. But yeah Srinath could touch 90 when he decided to bend his back.uh no clearly you haven't watched his early career then. He was obviously no Shoaib Akhtar but I find it easy to believe he'd have been 150+ when he was younger.
Nah, McGrath could be fairly sharp at times.Glen McGrath 145. Hmmm. I'd take that to court too.
Hard to tell how fast a bowler is bowling just by watching video. However, many of the batsman is this video were beaten by pace. I'm pretty sure that if Graham Thorpes testicles were about able to talk then they'd confirm that Srinath occasionally bowled mid 140s.Nah, McGrath could be fairly sharp at times.
On Srinath though, maybe he was a bit quicker than I thought...
I remember him bowling just over 140 a couple times, so maybe a Fremantle Docker gale swinging a bit behind himYeah well ...nup. 140 for Pidge tops.
I didn't realise you spelt Peter Trego like thatJames Hildreth obvs.
I think you'll have a hard time convincing people that Srinath bowled "consistently faster than Donald and Waqar". Probably less so to the batsmen who faced them. I mean its quite possible that he bowled quicker than those 2 in a few spells or maybe even a few matches, but he was never consistently quicker than them.I doubt Alistair Campbell would mention Srinath's pace for nothing. He had nothing to advocate for his pace. Although, 149.6kph in WC 99 was official and Sri was 2nd fastest in the tournament, 2nd only to Shoaib. This was after his rotator cuff injury, and also he wasnt young then. I would assume, someone at the age of 30, if he could bowl at 149, he would have bowled much faster when he was 26- 28. Rest is speculative and you can think whatever you want to.
Take it to the overrated players thread plsMatt Hayden
this should be the sentiment. Rather it seems to be that he "consistently" outpaced them.Perhaps the right sentiment is along the lines of "Srinath outpaced Waqar and Donald on more than one occasion".
Nah while he was playing I thought he was overrated cos everyone was like omg he is the best ever but now that he is retired his ratimg has gone to ****.Take it to the overrated players thread pls
