Binny's Test career has been an interesting tight ODI match so far.

Binny bowling has 1/184 (50) with the pick of the bowler being Binny 1/44
Binny batting is currently 8/145 (45.1) with Binny 78 leading the way.
one of the finest stats ever produced

YES PUJARA! <3

Really want to see Kohli/management come up and say "Pujara is sitting out because we told him he would have to back in SL" when the SA tour comes around.

Pujara @ 3 and Rahane @ 5 is perfect imo. Not going to change my opinion on that.

Look, if Pujara was (a) less ugly and (b) would join into team orgies, he'd have been in the team earlier.

Nah, love you long time Pujara. Awesome statement to the team management.

Best subcontinental quick is Wahab, Rahat or Yadav guyz.

Prasad has done well though especially when you consider he's had some shocking games during the good period too.

I can understand why India want five bowlers and I support it but Binny is not the guy to bat at #6. Next medium pace adequate batsman attempt please. They miss Ganguly so much.
Yes, but mark my word, Nuwan Pradeep is going to trump them all. Has very easy action, but as quick as Wahab or Yadav and lots of movement off the pitch. He is getting fitter as well. Given how relaxed his approach is expecting big things from him in the future.

Not so sure about Pradeep. Chameera is better prospect.

Pujara is the only batsman in the Indian line up that I'd put money on making a double ton.. everyone else is either lacking in discipline or concentration. Type of batsman you are never supposed to drop from a Test line-up. Good thing he doesn't seem to have taken it badly.
How about Vijay? Doesn't lack in discipline any more or concentration.

Pujara at three without batting en eyelid. Is far more disciplined than Rahane and is India's best batsman.

Regarding Kohli's selections - it is not just that he has handled Pujara poorly all tour. He also dropped Umesh Yadav for the first test. To be fair, he did bring in Mishra and Harbhajan, one could say. This showed intent to bring in wicket taking bowlers to the test side. Mishra has worked our quite well for India. Ashwin has taken a lot of wickets but Mishra has been far more disciplined with this lengths. I like the combination. When Ojha comes in, which I hope is sooner rather than later, it will be an interesting problem to have. I am loving Mishra in the side.

Regarding Naman Ojha - just doesn't look a test batsman. I will prefer having Dinesh Karthik if Saha doesn't make runs. It's a spot still up for grabs.

Kohli the weakness I pointed out earlier in the series. He plays so many shots and so much outside off stump. See, if you play 6th or 7th stump, I bowler can keep bowling the 8th or 9th stump. Then, you can't play at those deliveries as it's too far wide and you will nick it if you do. Rahane has sorted this issue a fair bit. Kohli hasn't.

How well Prasad bowled at least for the first half. He was over bowled. Angelo should have bowled far more. Right now Wahab is the best pacer from the subcontinent. Prasad is terrific but let's not confuse things. Also, Umesh has had a great test but he was bowling poor lines just a month back. He will have to perform consistently before he can be regarded as bankable. He has always excited me and I am a huge fanboy of his, mind.

Another interesting discussion from an India view point is whom they will select along with Vijay to open. Manjrekar made an interesting point that Rahul shouldn't be dropped as he made a wonderful 100. I suspect they will go with Dhawan initially though. It's not a bad move either. Dhawan is more experienced than Rahul. The South African series will be a good test for him as a long term option in this regard. He also seems to be quite comfortable in India.

Looking ahead, this looks like a draw in the making. We need to bundle Lanka out for less than 150 to have enough time to declare in the second dab and have time to bowl Sri Lanka out with rain on the cards in the test. Ashwin is likely to be effective as he gets more bounce than Mishra on this pitch. We haven't seen much effective spin from either of the spinners. Ishant should do fine here, as should Binny with Umesh having the chance to be very effective. I hope Umesh doesn't bowl too short. It's easy to get the length wrong on this pitch.
