I actually think Barca are probably one of the hardest clubs to play CB for. So many different things you have to do and so much space you have to defend.

City are doing that thing they do every 2 years where they remember they're good.
I think Sterling is a huge player for us. For the first time since the oil money came in we actually have two wingers. It's given Silva, Yaya and Aguero more space through the middle and it's even made Navas look decent.

Also, the defence has looked very impressive. 2012 Kompany is back, plus Mangala has been very impressive and Sagna hasn't missed a beat with Zaba out.

Yeah, I think Sterling has made the team better in terms of the attention he can draw but he's not near what he will be. He's actually been pretty average IMO. When he starts to get going and finds his feet, he'll be even more of a nightmare. His understanding with Kolarov is really good already and when him and Silva get the combos going it'll be carnage.

Yeah Sterling is huge for Citeh, Silva has so many more dangerous options on the ball than he had last season. When they went ahead their counter-attacking looked lethal too. The Liverpool Media are probably already disowning some of the ****e they talked over the past few months. The next Shaun Wright-Philips... right.

Toure+Kompany playing at their best again has probably made an even bigger difference though. Didn't expect that at all, I thought they'd continue to decline.

Not too surprised about Toure - always struck me as being a case of him needing to get his finger out. Kompany on the other hand seemed to be in rapid terminal decline, so he's done well to arrest that. It's like the last few seasons never happened.

It might still happen tbf. A lot of players don't drop off in quality when they age, they just can't play as many games or need a lot more recovery time. You wouldn't expect them to show it at this stage of the season.

Pellegrini might just need to manage them a bit better this season. I don't think Toure can play every CL and league game anymore.

Was pretty average in the first two game sbut thought his first 50 minutes yesterday were absolutely outstanding. Linked up really well, held the ball for AK to overlap and kept Howard on his toes a few times. He started to give the ball away after that though and was rightly taken off for Nasri, who holds the ball and possession really well. His effort defensively has been impressive as well, especially considering how weak AK is in that department.

No World Cup and no African Cup of Nations will make a big difference though.
Really quite worried about how Sanchez not really having a break over the summer might effect Arsenal to be honest. There's no denying his importance to the side, and he's played a ridiculous amount of games over the last few years. Will have to be managed very carefully.

I think Kompany finding himself again has a lot to do with injuries. He was pretty plagued by small niggles and muscle strains for the last few years, especially last year. Hopefully it stays that way.

Junk officiating. Alexis wasn't offside a couple of minutes ago, and that decision against Ramsay is just all kinds of rubbish.
