When McCullum goes back down to 5 or 6. Even without the batting powerplay McCullum could kill it in the last 10.

I'd still go:

1. Guptill
2. BMac
3. KW
4. Taylor
5. Elliott
6. Anderson
7. Ronchi
8. Santner
9. Milne
10. Southee
11. Boult

That's a side that could take us to No. 1 in the world. Probably bring Latham in when Elliott retires and Henry for injury cover.

Good to see Latham proving me wrong but I have always said if he is going to be in the team then he has to open.

Nicely done Kiwis. Latham stepping up nicely & Bracewell coming to the party.

Poor performance by SA but it has become the norm for our ODI side of recent times. Win one, lose one, win one, lose one etc

Morne van Wyk just earning some caps and keeping de Kocks's spot warm.

But once again the all-rounder position has become a curse. Wiese looking how I expected him to look tbh Albie Morkel is better than him. Doubt one of Parnell, McLaren, Morris, Wiese will stick up their hands. Desperately need the next generation seamer all-rounder to come through.

JP Duminy as expected, a massive miss to ODI side.

Faf & JP are adaptable batsman. Think Rossouw & Miller have room for growth in their games still. They can look good but they need to become more adaptable to situations/pitches and show responsibility. Rossouw did it last game and Behardien this.

I tend to expect this is not a new dawn for behardien. The sticky nature of the pitch suited his reaction speed. Perhaps it will build some confidence though.

Excellent bowling by bracewell. He has done a lot of work on his run up and isn't hustling into the crease so much. The return on investment is increased accuracy and a sweeter rhythm in his action and when the ball is newer a touch of swing. Would rather he bowled like this than 5ks faster.

Really seems to get the third seamers job. He bowled dot ball after dot ball instead of chasing wickets. In the end he forced some mistakes.

If he can put in another showing like this then he could be part of the White ball solution. Very excited about his prospects.

Come on. Duminy is not a miss with the bat. When was the last time he made any meaningful comtribution with the bat?

Good to see Milne going well, and also being a bit more strategic about when he cranks it up. Notice on the hawkeye app that his second spell speeds were much sharper than his first. And welcome back Doug!

Guptill now must be getting seriously close to being considered our best ODI opening bat of all time. 4000+ runs at 41. And nice from Latham, a good confidence builder for him. While this series hasn't exactly been loaded with import, it has produced plenty of promising performances from our 2nd tier players, which is great to see.

Yes NZ bowled nicely.

They worked out the pitch quite quickly and adjusted the style to suit.

They rolled the fingers across the ball and Milne was used smartly. His wicket of Amla was down to pace - Amla went to a wide one, but it was a little too quick for him to control the shot down to third man.

Milne's speed combined nicely with Bracewell's accuracy. AB was under sever pressure because of this is nearly ran himself out because of it.

I also thought Sodhi bowled in nice areas and a few times got good drift and loop.

Competing with Astle and Turner for one of the spots. Always difficult comparing players from different eras, but can't be far off those two.
