In England, we saw who is the best player of pace (and swing) bowling.
Since when is England the place where you get judged on PACE bowling? Kohli was tied with Pujara as our best bat in SA and was by far our best bat in Australia. Not to suggest that Rahane is not good against pace, he's definitely very good, just not as good as Kohli. Swing and seam it's definitely Rahane though.

Saha's been fine. The fifth bowler slot is the real issue. If Bhuvi is fit, it's one of the most inexplicable selections I can imagine.

Viriya says the real problem is the quality of our WK bat. It really isn't..

Just gotta knuckle down and get better at cricket. That's the main problem. 5th bowlers, wicket keepers and all rounders is all secondary.

That said I'm still fuming at Binny over Pujara.

Pujara and Bhuvi in the XI will solve a lot of issues. Both can bat slow and absorb pressure; Bhuvi brings a lot of control to the bowling attack, and Pujara at bat-pad frees Rahane up to field in the slips.

Angelo's got some good wickets recently tbh. Since that spell in England where he got 4, he's produced 2-3 other very good spells.

Before that Test he'd taken 14 wickets in 39 Tests @ 73.
From that Test onwards he's taken another 14 wickets in 12 Tests @ 25.

Definitely somewhat of a turning point, and moreover he's actually bowled some good wicketless spells in that time too. I don't really think he should be opening unless Sri Lanka want to play three spinners, but it's good to see him live up to some of the bowling potential.

He's just had constant injury issues, otherwise he has the potential to do both jobs. I've seen clips of him bowling at ~140k.
