Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
Yes he is, he played a **** shot. He has credit in the bank though. Rohit doesn't.

**** Rohit. He's going to be our Watson. Selected constantly on the basis of potential, doing just enough to save himself from the axe, never really delivering enough to produce a decisive performance.
 That's not a bad comparison at all.

Rohit is clearly a better Test batsman than Watson.

Rahane @ 3 is lame, I can't believe we have to shuffle our best players all because of Nohit. Seriously wtf..

also LOL Binny

I, for one, am happy for Rahane to be moved to 3. He's our best player of pace bowling. If Pujara doesn't play, Rahane should be at no. 3.

Anyway yeah, today our hate should be directed more at Binny and Shastri. What a rubbish selection.
I hate to say this, but at what point do we start seriously giving voice to the possibility that Binny's being picked repeatedly because his dad's a national selector?

If I were Parvez Rasool, I'd be fuming. He's the natural replacement for Jadeja and deserves selection in these conditions.

Rasool didn't even get a run in the recent A series. Warmed the bench mostly.
Binny's being picked a lot less because his dad's a national selector (even then, Dhoni reduced him to a mere extra and likely Kohli will too) and more because he's from a Group A team that's won the last two Ranji titles. That should count for something. Fair, he was good with the bat and average with the ball in the first and the reverse in the second, but that's the best you may have got.

Rasool, on the other hand, plays for J&K, who were promoted from C to A in one season, only to be dire in that next season, and then get demoted to C. Players from Group C are often ignored. Rasool himself was poor all round in this latest season.
No, Bhuvi
Indeed. Bloke's just fine at six/seven, but has to play as a fifth bowler.

Whatever it takes!!!
Come on guys, don't always go after him. I too think Pujara should've been selected ahead of him. But don't criticise Rohit for this inning. You wouldn't be saying one word against Kohli or Rahane if they played such a knock. You're essentially criticising Rohit for his baggage (past failures).

You are not getting it.. It is not this innings.. It is the fact that he has played such innings and then sucked for the next 7 or 8 and then again plays such an innings, which really is not influential or decisive in any way, and keeps his spot in the side.. AT least if he fails, we will know what to do with him. It is that frustration. If he can kick on and play like this a lot more consistently, then I am sure we wont see such posts. Right now, it is deserved for Nohit.

IDK. Sreesanth played for a poor team too, and he got a long run.

He's played a grand total of 11 tests before this.. you are being too harsh. Considering how he can make 200+ in ODIs with ease when set, it's only a matter of time when he figures out how to make huge scores in Tests.. We all know Kohli is not that guy. Rohit has that potential.

Yeah the order of the top five today was perfectly fine. I'd have picked Pujara ahead of Rohit (or Binny) and moved Rahane down to 5, but Rahane batting 3 shouldn't be seen as a bad thing per se.
