Could have hardly asked for a better set up for the test. Classic day 1, aside from the fact that India had a turd at number 6.

P Sara becomes a batsman's haven on day 2 and 3. I'm basically resigned to a Sanga double. Might as well enjoy it.
wickets this season in Lanka have been gun have not served a single road in 5 games, dont think its a 500 + wicket looks more a 350 plays 300 track.

So Rohit has earned his spot in the next test. Does that mean after Dhawan returns we keep Rahul and sacrifice that 5th bowler after the think tank paid so much lip service to it?

It's a tough one, because Vijay along with Rahane, has probably been India's best test batsman over the last 12 months. That being said, the selectors didn't hesitate much in dropping Bhuvi, who was undoubtedly India's best seamer before he got injured.

Rahul will probably be dropped after Dhawan returns, if the team management insists on playing 5 bowlers.

**** Rohit, seriously.

Scores enough runs that he won't be dropped, yet not enough to be a decisive influence on the match, AND gets out to a soft dismissal at the worst possible time - forcing Ashwin to start his innings tmrw mornig against fresh bowlers.

Scores his runs with #intent but never looks comfortable doing so - he's bound to get a string of low scores in the next few innings that he has earned himself with this innings.

Such a Nohit performance. Urgh.

Come on guys, don't always go after him. I too think Pujara should've been selected ahead of him. But don't criticise Rohit for this inning. You wouldn't be saying one word against Kohli or Rahane if they played such a knock. You're essentially criticising Rohit for his baggage (past failures).

So bunny is playing as a bowler who was sent at 6? Does not make sense. Chopra guy made a good point that if you want to go for 5 bowlers then actually go for it like someone Bhuvi who could replace bhajji. And Bhuvi is no mug with the bat either. You could say then they went for 5 bowlers.

For the day, India got runs on the board and Saha if can stick it out few more tomorrow with Ashwin and co, India will be in a good position. You don't know which SL will turn up in batting. Quite unpredictable atm.

All things considered, India just slightly ahead atm.

Seriously Rohit is under immense pressure to perform and even though he got out 70-odd is hardly a bad score.. Y'all mother****ers are impossible to please.

At least he's not Mubarak.

So guys, I hear Dinesh Karthik got (re)married yesterday. Was nice of Murali Vijay to score a duck today.

Rahane failed today and isn't copping criticism. stfu guys. Rohit forever.
Yes he is, he played a **** shot. He has credit in the bank though. Rohit doesn't.

**** Rohit. He's going to be our Watson. Selected constantly on the basis of potential, doing just enough to save himself from the axe, never really delivering enough to produce a decisive performance.
