It's really not that bad an idea.. just execution was off.. he wasn't getting a run any other way and if they are to chase 100 they need one of the two batsmen to take the attack to the bowlers.. there is no way they are getting home by going at 2/over.

No **** off back to your spreadsheets. It was a dumb ****ing idea.

Just play sensibly. Block the good balls. Play out the maidens. Wait for the loose ball and score.

Test cricket has been played that way from literally hundreds of years for a reason, this T20 bull**** logic of attacking the bowler and hitting off his length does not ****ing apply when the pitch is decent to bat on and you need 100 runs in 5 ****ing sessions

That logic makes sense when you have 8 wickets left.. they had 3 in hand with no recognized batsmen coming in. Which means one of them had to take the attacking option or it's just a matter of time anyway.
