ATG 'Mixed Experience' Test XI - Draft

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
the best part about this round 12 is that round 11's random order will give massive benefits to those choosing first, almost enough to break the fairness completely. the obvious reason is that 1st player drawn gets first nab at warnie etc but that's not so bad because there's so many atgs at that level. the real reason is that it gives 1st choice the chance to complete the team they need to be the perfect team, while the last choice has to hope there's a keeper or spinner left over for him if he hasn't got one yet. the convenience 1st choice gets with no punishment(unless they have to choose last for round 12) is way way unfair

Slater was an exciting player who along with Mark Waugh didn't make enough of his talent. Going on to big hundreds as opposed to all those 90's he got

Slater and Marto were the two Aussies that I knew were in the range. I tend to think of Slater as having two careers. When he was harshly dropped the first time he was averaging 47 plus, which is/was awesome. When he returned, he was never the same bat and some poor series to finish meant that he is had a pretty big fall in the eyes of most people. The Slater who averaged 47 was world class, he played so many excellent knocks.

to be fair in slater's "second career" he still performed pretty good at home, especially in the 98-99 ashes
