That's as heavy a paddling in terms of runs margins as you can get. Couldn't believe it when I woke up to that scoreline

England should bring back Carbs.

Rubbish post. What the Indian batsman struggled with at Old Trafford (aside from good bowling) was the pace and bounce of the pitch. That's not a particularly usual characteristic of English pitches, and nor is it something the Aussies will find alien and struggle in.
I think England's bowlers could well have the Aussies struggling in conditions similar to the Old Trafford test. Broad and Anderson's bowling in that test was magnificent, it was the kind of stuff that any batting lineup would have a very hard time with. The problem is that Australia would then turn around and blast England out for -5 in return.

So, the combined total for the test is : Australia 820/10 and England 415/20

So, Aus got twice as many runs as England for half the wiickets lost. That's a mighty hammering.
Rogers and Smith outscored England by 80 runs and only got out thrice.

The names Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh and Allan Border evoke near-universal reference among Australian cricket devotees for the proficiency with the bat let alone as leaders. But none of them came close to the speed at which Smith, the player initially chosen primarily for his bowling, reached the tally of 10 Test centuries he brought up last week.

Ponting was 27 in in his 55th Test when he reached the mark, Border at 28 in his 53rd, Waugh at 30 in his 80th. Smith's has come just after his 26th birthday, and in his 30th Test.
Check out that slow poke Waugh

Not Terrible
We need a Smith/Root/Williamson/Kohli highlight reel.

Too bad Kohli's best thus far has been in pajama cricket.

Shame it shows Zaheer in his follow through though. You're thinking "oh my that's the most beautiful --- Oh wait he hit it off Zaheer"

Edit: Or is it Shami? One of those trundlers anyway

Joking apart losing to these Australians is no disgrace at all, but I do object to this spineless performance - the Bangas and Zim would have made a better fist of our second dig than we have
Yeah I agree, none of the fisting in the second innings was perpetrated by England.
