Ballance must have been sentenced to play, no way he is there of his free will.

Oh, ended his suffering as Im typing.

Think Ballance needs a rest. Got Bopara in 09 written all over him
It's pretty bewildering as he must be able to bat to have been able to score the runs that he has in tests but he has looked no better than a very average tailender since the start of the WC

Yeah, he wasn't even scoring runs for Yorkshire when he played in championship this season. Bairstow scoring runs again so he comes in and Bell and Root shuffle up the order by 1 place.

Norwood's on Fire
I mean I'm not really in favour of Root moving up because he has buckets of runs at 5 but at this stage it's about four balls earlier

Yeah if Bairstow had never played before we would all be demanding his selection. The fact that he has leaves some doubts but you probably can't ignore him much longer.

Best over I've seen Marsh bowl by far.

One of the really encouraging things about his performance with the ball in this test with regard to replacing Watson is that he bowled pretty tight lines in the first innings, which was the thing Watson could still do with the ball that got him the nod for the first test. Marsh mentioned as much in the interview he did after yesterday's play, saying he wasn't going to blaze away looking for wickets in this attack and knew his role etc.

That over suggests a somewhat different approach in this innings as dictated by the situation. Promising.

So for a back foot player that was a poor dismissal. It's across him and I know it bounced but not good enough. Find him some tapes of Tubby and sentence him to watching his off stump play.
