Haha, tbf I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with him winning clean per se. It just wouldn't make a lot of sense since a) Rollins has so far been booked as a total weasel (which in itself is fine), and b) Lesnar losing clean would mean his momentum would take a hit, and as he's basically the E's main attraction as an unstoppable beast atm, I'm not sure that would be the right thing to do.

The Cesaro/Rusev/Owens fight was another really good one. Cesaro coming out with the crossface was my highlight, the crowd actually started chanting for him "Tap tap tap tap tap" and slamming the gates around the ring.

Should make him the man of 1001 holds and just have him use epic finishing submission moves all the time.

I reckon the best way to get Rollins a strong win is to have Shaemus cash in MITB. Yes it's early but come on, it's Shaemus. Do we really want the drama of that guy having the case for most of the year?

Not convinced beating Sheamus would do a great deal for Rollins tbh. Nobody gives a crap about Sheamus.
This is in a scenario that reverses how Seth won the belt, after a long trying fight with Lesnar, Shaemus cashes in but ends up losing to Rollins who capitalises.

Lesnar gets to destroy two people, Seth gets to look strong (and still a bit weaselly), Shaemus can go beat up people in the midcard.

Win, win, win.

They need Sheamus to just fail a cash in. There's no way that they're putting the belt on him, and no one cares about him holding the case at all.

He was always a peculiar choice. I wonder if MITB as a concept is becoming a little tired.

also i don't what the hell is gonna happen with both brock-seth & cena-owens which is cool. it's been pretty predictable since WM. I suspect both the champions retain.

It didn't really make sense at the time, and it certainly doesn't look good right now. Athlai sorta touched on it before in reguards to not wanting too many insta-championship shots, but this was one year that perhaps skipping MITB would have made storylines easily, not that they could have actually done that

Have seen a lot of articles this week heaping praise on Cena. Have to agree too, he's been awesome this year. Didn't like the decision of Rusev dropping the belt at WM, but it's turned out to be a great decision. The Open Challenge has been superb, and we've seen some of the best matches in years. Has it been Cena's best year to date?

Cena's best in-ring year by a mile. I respect his genuine attempt to diversify his move set, but I have two major gripes with it.

1) His springboard stunner is ridiculous. He's only used it for a few months and already he's botched it 3 or 4 times. It was a nice thought, but it's awful, and looks dangerous.
2) If you're working on your skills, how about calling William Regal over for 20 minutes and have him show you how to tighten up that submission hold you've been massacring for the past few years?

Aside from that, he's been great. Owens and Cesaro have both put on match of year candidates with him since Wrestlemania and Rusev had a few great matches with him before that. I'm not Cena's biggest fan, but he's improved greatly this year, and at this stage of his career, that says a lot about his attitude.

Agree on both points. Hate the Springboard Stunner, and definitely needs to synch up the STFU more. Austin told him to do so when they did a podcast together, so hopefully he'll listen eventually.

Dolph resigns with WWE and will be back on screen after shooting a movie. Oh god, this angle is going to come back isn't it?

Yeah, this is a good point actually. I wonder this also.

I'm surprised we've not seen a bit more variation in how cash ins have occurred over the years to be honest. The only "legit" cash in that I can remember was when RVD cashed it in on Cena.

I think Kennedy announced that he would cash his a year down the line at WM 24 as well, but...that obviously didn't transpire. Otherwise they have mostly just been cheap victory/opportunistic cash ins. Which are fine I guess, and make sense from a logical perspective most of the time...but eh...novelty has dried up a bit.

Also, Cena has been excellent for ages. This year has been no exception, but Cena having great matches and being an all-round gun is old news. The way portions of the IWC are only just coming around to this is odd tstl.

I don't think MITB is stale, they've just given it to the wrong person, which is in-turn killing the format. Was great when Rollins had the briefcase just a few months ago, and if they'd given it to someone who could actually get built into a star, or was at least interesting then it would still be good, but giving it to Sheamus has sucked all the life out of it.
