He's been on the main roster for like 2 months
Not properly though, just making appearances. I thought he'd run this feud with Cena, then return to dominate NXT a bit longer. Mainly because the NXT main event is a bit shallow with Owens gone. Balor's champ, Owens is moving to the main roster, Neville is gone, Zayn is injured, Itami is injured and then I guess you've got Samoa Joe, but he's going to need to turn heel if he's going to feud with Balor, but guys like Corbin aren't ready to be moved into that slot yet.

He's been on Raw every week and wrestled John ****ing Cena on ppv. Twice. Did you think he was going to disappear from main roster after that?

Also, NXT depth is absolutely not a consideration for WWE when deciding to move people up. HHH has acknowledged this as a challenge in interviews.

It'd be like a cricket team not calling up a player from seconds because they don't have a quality player in the thirds who can replace him

What show were you guys watching? There's nothing in my TV guide apart from an episode of NXT.

Yeah, I didn't think Owens would be moved onto the Main Roster so quickly! Pretty happy about it though, Owens is awesome. Just hope he goes over against Cena at Battleground.

I'm not a massive fan of Coup de Grace either TBH. Works for Finn I guess, but think he should have something that looks a bit more impactful.
This is gonna be really tricky. It seems to me that Raw needs Cena's open challenge. It's over with everybody, has great matches and also the possibility of fun surprise entries (sidenote: It's impossible, but how great would it be if the Undertaker answered the challenge). There's not a helluva lot interesting going on in Raw, but the open challenge is a big plus to it. And it would be weird to end it at Battleground. (It'd be weird for the US title to change hands on a PPV full stop imo. But I know...) Now, Owens could totally keep the open challenge going, and it'd probably be fun cause it's Owens, but it wouldn't be the same. So it'll be a case of keeping Owens over/the fans happy while having Cena retain the title, which in theory is easy, but in practice is hard because Cena will win it with a ****ing springboard stunner into an AA and everyone will be pissed and it'll leave Owens with no obvious next step and Owens will feud with ****ing Big Show or something for a month or two.

So my quick little plan, which can't actually happen because I've looked at the battleground line-up, would have been something like: Firstly, Cesaro v Ryback for the IC at Battleground, which Cesaro wins. Now last week, Owens interfered in Cesaro's US title shot, so of course what my rough plan is that Owens could dominate Cena at Battleground, do that whole "I'm going make you suffer before I finish you" thing, then Cesaro interferes, setting up a Cesaro-Owens feud for the IC. (Owens would probably have to interfere in a couple more Cesaro matches before battleground to set it up more)

This would have left Cena with the US title, set-up a feud the fans will eat the **** out of and possibly transformed the IC title into where graduated NXT rookies and crowd favourites play, instead of mid card veteran hell (The match at battleground is Ryback - Big Show - The Miz for heaven's sake).

As it is, I don't know how they'll book it but I'll probably hate it.

Fantasy booking often sucks. That doesn't. You'll go well in the next edition of Battle of the Wrestling Thread Members

I will say I am also a huge fan of the open challenge but sometimes it's better to end something while it's still awesome

See nWo for a great example of something doing the exact opposite.

It'll end once they sell enough Cena US Champion shirts. Hopefully they don't bring out 4 new colours or something.

Also what would we like to see regarding Rollins and Brock? Could go a few ways tbh.

Looking forward to the controversial twist to the KO/Cena story where Cena wins clean against KO for the US title. In an unprecedented show of sportsmanship, Cena extends a hand in respect to KO again. A teary eyed KO accepts the hand, embraces and kisses Cena.

They then marry (now legal) and become the greatest tag team in WWE history. The champions we deserve, the champions we need.

Summer Rae's not hot enough for Rusev. They should've brought over a hot Russian brunette to make Lana really jealous.

I'm sure they can squeeze it out for a couple more months though. Given they can't do that Owens IC thing I guess Owens should win, but it'll be kinda shame for it to change hands at a middling PPV. Raw the night after SummerSlam? Sure. That's a pop that could make the YouTube we were talking about a page back

I agree, but I think there is still mileage in it yet. They just need to be clever in who they select each week for it.

I am getting a bit tired of the formula for the matches themselves though. Cesaro vs Cena the other night was gun, but once again it was a kick-out-of-the-big-moves-fest, followed by a springboard stunner (really wish they'd stop with that), followed by a final AA/non-finish, end.
