How Are You Doing On CM?

Dunno, I see defenders averaging 20 a game over a season, so 90 in 5 isn't extraordinary

I thought FM stats were quite realistic? The most tackles anyone made per game in the Premier League this season was 3.9.

Purchased FM15 a couple of days ago. Seem to be struggling more with this version than previous ones. Managing Brentwood in the Ryman Premier, I lurch from beating 4th placed Dulwich Village 8 - 2 one week to losing to Bognor Regis 4 - 0 the next. Given Brentwood were predicted for relegation, perhaps this isn't particularly bad - and I have managed to turf Braintree and Coventry out of the FA Cup by utilising a 5 - 4 - 1 on counter attack. The Coventry game was hilarious as they had something like 35 shots, 15 on target and didn't score. I had one shot (on target) scored and went through. Got pummelled by Bolton in the next round (7 - 1, but 1 - 1 at half time) but still.

Started with Arsenal. Bought Michael Bradley from Toronto.

Have played 5 games with him. He's got a rating of at least 7.5 in every one. Has made about 90 successful tackles in that time, and has been sent off twice.

Quite funny.
Haha yeah I had him at Spurs, got sent off in his first two games. He is great though.

Yeah, I dunno. Had over 50 shots in a game a couple of times in this latest one. That basically never happens, Bees had 42 shots against Blackpool this season and that was kind of news.

Help! Who are some good RB/WB or LB/WBs to sign?

Re-started the Man U save to stop cpr from crying into his cornflakes, and have made much the same mistakes again.

In:
Signed Vertonghen again because **** I needed another CD and nobody wants to join us when we're not in Europe.
Depay was my first signing, got him reasonably cheap(ish)
Bojan came in on loan because Rooney and Falcao were both injured, with RVP away on holidays. He'll warm the bench when they all get back, but YOLO.
Also picked up Mat Ryan since Valdes is out for four months and he's Australian and kinda decent.

Out:
Smalling for about 25mil. Hopefully I can use that to splash on the RB/WB and LB/WBs I so desperately need.
Amos for ~1mil. Was never going to play so Southampton can have him.

Also doing my best to get rid of Fellaini, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Seriously, did you not try for Balanta in defence?

TBH I muddled on with Rafael and Shaw, brought in Srna in season 2 to cover on the right, and Coentrao in season 4, both on cheap (about £5m for the pair), I play a flat 4 at the back though.

I honestly have no idea who Balanta is...

I've switched back to a flat four at the back now, given the forward focus on wingers. Seriously considering listing Ashley Young at the moment.

I ended up with Nathaniel Clyne coming in as a sorta promising back-up RB to the injured Rafael (since Antonio Valencia isn't the best option there). Rojo is covering the left while Shaw recovers from injury.

Eder Balanta, Columbian defender, about 21 at the start, get him for about £7m, has been awesome for me.

Got rid of Valencia pretty quick myself, didn't fit my system (was using IF/RMD's for my wingers), Young didn't last much longer either, as I picked up Yarmalenko for about £10m.

Yeah I kinda like having Valencia around as cover for the entire right side, and Young for the entire left side. But with the sheer amount of Attacking Midfielders in the squad it's getting a bit ridiculous.

Hopefully Fellaini and Herrera get some attention moving towards Deadline Day and I can use whatever I get from them + Young to grab a really good CM.

Jose Gaya is the best left back on the game. If you can't get him, then Jonathan Silva from Sporting is immense. As for right backs, Clyne was a good shout, but personally I like Danilo or Carvajal. Real don't seem too keen on Carvajal on the game, so you can normally pick him up pretty cheap!

Yeah I had a crack at Carvajal but he didn't want to move to Man U because we aren't playing European football or whatever.

Will have to look into Gaya and Silva then.

TBH don't see the rush in getting rid of Fellaini, he does a decent job as either a DM or CM - I used him as a Ball Winning Midfielder alongside an Attacking Playmaker. However he'd fit into my current tactic which has 2 box to box midfielders.

Only got rid of him as I wanted to bring Lucas Romero through in season 2 and some German team offered me nearly £20m for him.

Yeah, so having played the game a bit more, it really does seem like the stats in terms of number of tackles/shots per game are really inflated.

Not enough to seriously undermine my enjoyment (have been on it far too much today already), but it does kind of diminish the realism a little.

Don't you have a PhD to finish? Perfect time to be playing.

It is not working on the new laptop for me, strange flickers across the screen for no apparent reason, good thing really.

Haha yes, I was planning on sending my latest load of work in to my supervisor by lunch time today actually. That didn't happen. Probably tomorrow. Probably.

Managed to eke out enough of my transfer budget to grab Balanta. Also grabbed Bradley after sledger mentioned him in here; he's not wrong -- the guy is a defensive nutcase. Shame he just broke his arm in my save in a random cup match against Doncaster.

You manage to get a left back in the end?

Not been able to play FM recently. Laptop continuing to play-up. Trackpad is erratic as hell, sometimes it works, sometimes the cursor jumps all over the place. Apple have tested the touchpad hardware and apparently it's perfect, and re-installed the OS, and it's still doing it. Bloody frustrating!
