*Official* English Football Season 2014-15

International Coach
When Stirling goes, Redmond could go some way to help replicate some of what he gave to the team - obv not to the same level, but there's the ability in him to give a good account of himself. I was impressed with him when he was last in the Prem too, was Norwich's stand out player for me. Surprised Hodgson never really looked at him.

Not just a case of keeping players fit, but keeping players full stop has played a considerable part in Arsenal's improvement imo.

The selling days are certainly a thing of the past. Buying players from Real and Barca works nicely in that respect as well.

Tbf, we've at least somewhat rectified it over this season. 4 points v City, four v Liverpool, beating United in the cup. But yeah, improving that further and keeping players fit would be huge.
Would've been 4 against Utd were it not for de Gea. I don't think Wenger can be blamed for that one, we should have been out of sight by the time United scored.

He is very obviously an intelligent guy, just have to look at his career in business and then football to know that. Totally committed to attacking, possession based football, maybe to the extent that it can become a hindrance, although personally I am not really sure about that.

The big doubt though is that he has only managed at one club, he has done one hell of a job but the conditions were perfect for him here. You can never be sure how that is going to translate, Rangers and Brentford are so very different. How likely is this to happen anyway? The story has been around for a while, there is obviously the David Weir connection, would certainly be an interesting career move.
Didn't he create his own conditions given his role when Rosler was manager?

He played a very big role yes, most of the good recruitment that happened when Rosler was there is put down to him. But he also had Matthew Benham, what happened in February was such a shock because they seemed so perfectly in sync. He did an absolutely terrific job for the whole time he was at Brentford, I would definitely recommend him, you can just be never sure how things will go in such different circumstances.

Worse players than Milner Redmond and Trippier out there IMO. A lot worse.

Reckon Milner could be bargain of the summer.
I actually really like Redmond, best player I saw in the Championship this season, be so much better for him to stay where he is though. Liverpool are weird with buying loads of players from other Prermier League clubs, just always going to be spending too much on them

Haha, to clarify - I wouldn't be unhappy with any of those signings, they're just not a big statement to the league or fans.

Would also cost you loads of money. I know plenty of those you had got from abroad have been total failures recently but is pretty much the way you have to go.

Yeah, the only hope Liverpool and all the teams in a similar position have is buying from abroad and hoping they unearth the next superstar really. The English players mentioned will never cut the mustard so far as breaking into the Champions League on a regular basis is concerned, and a lack of Champions League makes attracting already established superstars an impossibility.

Who once they're good enough will want to go to a bigger club. Vicious cycle which Arsenal fans know about, but thankully we're out of that position now.

We got CL every year during the cycle though.
Yeah, this is true. The way Liverpool have gone just goes to show how important Wenger keeping Arsenal in the top 4 for the past decade and beyond has been really. I think history might remember this feat as one of those achievements the importance of which was really understated at the time it was happening.

The FA charging Jack for those chants? FFS, I know two Tottenham fans and neither of them gave a ****. Ridiculously soft.

Urgh that is poor. I don't necessarily support what he did, but it's surely a matter for Arsenal to deal with internally if they so choose.
