Better than any previous recoveries when we had a good/great side I reckon. Might be the start of something given how many inexperienced players we have. Too early to say but a nice start.

Poor from NZ. The worst I've seen them perform in a long while.

Test cricket is an awesome game.

Not as good as Australia v India before Christmas (the doomed chase), but defo in top 5 of last few years.

Very enjoyable indeed.

Haha yeah how often do catches even go to 5th or 6th slip? Third man probably just as good a catching position against batsmen inclined to do dumb ****.

That was a properly poor effort from NZ today. If the rest of the lineup had put in half the application Watling did they'd have saved the test without breaking a sweat.

Fantastic test though, England finding form bodes really well for the Ashes.

NZ - so, so disappointing. Should never have got close to losing that match. 30/4 in the first innings. 400/3 in the first innings. Just a few periods of really poor cricket.

So so happy, especially after some of the hubris before it all kicked off.

Some runs for Lyth would have been nice but other than that a few of the questions that had been asked of the side seemed to have been answered by Stokes and Wood

So many good things have come out of it as well. Stokes is obviously not going to play like that every game, will have his bad days but we know for sure he is worth sticking with whatever now, makes the selection questions a lot easier. Then you have Wood looking a big upgrade on Jordan and Cook playing his best innings in years.
