Lol cricket is funny sometimes...NZ couldn't buy a wicket yesterday, but beat the bat endlessly..had LBW's not given that would have clipped etc.. and then England get one clipping leg-stump 2nd over & it's given.

Umpires still have so much influence on LBWs
SMH if i made an excuse like this people would be going mental!!...NZ have allowed England off the hook far too many times during the course of this test and as a result they are in trouble now. The umpires aren't the ones to blame here. It's NZ themselves.

What are you on about? Not like it was a conscious decision like a big booming cover drive, it's a technical flaw.
Nah, he played straight across the line to a straight ball. Shot selection was the issue. If he played that straight back & showed the makers name, it wouldn't have been a problem.

I blame Trent Boult for finishing England off too soon today.

If England pull this off, well deserved. Each time they've been in the ascendency they've rammed home the advantage. Would obviously be tough to swallow from a NZ supporter's POV but as many have pointed out there's always the danger of having one of those horrid sessions at Lord's where you get rolled over.

The reason he didn't play straight is because he has a technical issue.

While "opportunistic" is about the politest word I could use to describe the rest of your posting in this match, this is correct.

Agree NZ should blame themselves... just thought they were unlucky with 1 LBW on day 1, but truth be told, it's probably just my NZ bias because thinking about it, NZ probably had the better of the umpiring decisions over all.

Not been so much a case of NZ letting England off the hook as England playing with a bit more desperation and ruthlessness IMO.

"Technical" suggests he doesn't have the skill to play a straight bat shot to that particular delivery. And if he didn't have the skill to play with a straight bat, I'd agree it was technical.. But he was trying to hit that through square leg, hence why 'shot selection' was the porblem. I would have thought that was obvious tbh.

He wasn't technically able to play straight because his front foot went across his body and he was falling to the off side.

I love how Anderson not only manages to escape criticism for negative fields but even manages to get people who think he's being bullied into it.

Agree, but I put that down to the fact he got himself into the position to play across it & hence you're right, he fell across it, rather than playing straight. Possibly a combination of both.

Well every part of that is wrong.
