I'm still in shock over Taylor's shot. Still trying to think what his thought process would have been.

I don't mind the decision to bat BJ ahead of McCullum in this situation tbh. Horses for courses.
Nah, if BMc had opened and it had been 40/0 after 5 overs, Cook would've had at least 4 men on the fence with a draw being England's best option

So is the logic with Walting five that he's simply a better player in these circumstances, or are they deliberately trying to leave some power in the tank if they get a strong 4th wicket stand? Guess it works as both.

Probably can't believe the audacity of Cook not setting the NZ 4 an over
Wow, how sensitive are you? Seriously, I thought he was a puss not declaring at least when the 9th wicket fell. England should still get up here. Are you going to go on about it for the remainder of the day now?

Quite sure it's the latter.

Something something cake and icing

Well this all went to poo. Not surprising either. When was the last time the NZ doom and gloom thread was bumped?
It's not surprising for anyone who's familiar with NZ's last 3-4 tours to England.

It's uncanny the number of times we've had our noses in front half -way through (sometimes day 4 or 5) of the match only to fall over at the last. Such a loss today would be rather typical of NZ tours to England since 2004.
