That's some selective dicing there. I'm sure I could find a period when Vettori > Warne in an 18-24 mths period.
I seriously doubt that you could, even during Warne's iffy injury plagued years at the turn of the millenium. A 2 year period that begins with a major event in Southee's career (being canned and then reselected some 6 months later) is a substantial period and can't be put down to a purple patch. Something substantial changed in Southee's bowling - he was quick, accurate, skillful and clever - that he's lost in the last 6 months or so. I don't know why, but given the rumours regarding his extra-curricular activities, a part of me worries that it might be complacency.

Anyway, NZ right in the **** now. Shutting up shop is the order of the day.

Lol cricket is funny sometimes...NZ couldn't buy a wicket yesterday, but beat the bat endlessly..had LBW's not given that would have clipped etc.. and then England get one clipping leg-stump 2nd over & it's given.

Umpires still have so much influence on LBWs
any umpire who did not give it out is not an international standard umpire

20/20 hindsight but no idea why MCCullum isn't opening

I can come to terms with Latham but Guptill is, was and forever will be ordinary

remember an hour ago when people thought 300 and now this record chase was easy?

Cook's a wuss and gets away with it because he has two world class bowlers (and now a tidy spinner and a promising third seamer).

Cooks record seems a bit like giving out a trophy for attendance though.
Nonsense.

Can't find cab's post now - but I'd expect sky may hype the record more next time round. He went into this test somewhere around 200 or so away from it so they've perhaps just assumed he wouldn't be getting it here

Sort of the point, no? Reacting to a previous innings as opposed to thinking in hte moment.
Bingo. Such a weak option. Hey they might still win but bugger me give yourself the chance to win, not save 20 runs. It won't get that close if you bowl well

Haha You'd love NZ to fall over here wouldn't you. It would be your greatest day for some time!!
You've got me wrong buddy..my great day came not long ago against a certain team in Barbados!! :D..but jokes aside i'm just being honest about Guppers and tbh Latham is the same and he's folded just like his partner.

Now Kane and Taylor are gonna have to dig in here and take this to lunch at the very least...because i wouldn't trust Mccullum to stick around for long tbh.
