Game has never been off. No way a criticism of Stokes but runs in an innings like that only come from one end. Big innings but a moderate partnership. England have been behind the entire day and still are.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is cloud cover and a little bit cooler. If it is right then England have their noses in front.

Should be looking for a much bigger lead if we're still in at the close.

The evening session should be all about cashing in if they do the grunt work in the afternoon; particularly given England's batsmen to come the evening session could be carnage.
Who knew Ben Stokes reads cricketweb.net/forum?

Henry appears to have had a decent game overall, notwithstanding the sky-high expectations from most NZ posters. Like Southee and Boult could have been more disciplined in each innings, but certainly an encouraging enough debut.

Would love an England mini collapse for a target of 290 for England tomorrow. Would be great, especially with rain and clouds playing their part.

Him and Wood have been very good on debut. Wood has a test to come tomorrow but if both stay fit look more than useful additions to their respective sides.

Why am I not surprised waking up to that score? NZ stuffed it yesterday by batting like complete muppets, should've been looking for a lead of 175 plus rather than have have the tailenders slog with Watling at the crease. Oh well let's hope the weather doesn't roll in again when we are batting.

Stating the obvious, but its ridiculous that we keep losing overs out of the game even with an extra half an hour allowed for pathetic over rates.

Nah, England were getting the ball to do plenty yesterday and Watling was the only one who looked like he'd be able to last the distance. Was definitely merit in getting the runs quickly and making the most of favourable bowling conditions. All indications from Cook yesterday were that he'd be the zone, and NZ needed far more discipline and patience with the ball.

Managed to scrape through the allotted overs after all, still 5 gone missing over the 4 days though.

Not that it would have made any difference to the score if they'd bowled them all tonight.

Insipid rubbish at the end there, more likely to get out and a hell of a lot less likely to score runs playing like that.

He done ok but the concern is the lad is a tad expensive!!

Weather looks pretty good for tomorrow, hopefully won't see that cloud cover roll in like we did during day 3. What will Cook leave NZ needing? 350?

Should just stay out and bowl the allotted overs IMO. If that means it's too dark to field then tough.
And what if it is the batting team at the end of the day that are responsible for the day over-running? (ie. because they were the bowling team for most of the day)

First test.the reason he's so highly rated is the intangible quality's he has, the things you can't coach, bowls a great natural length at good pace and can swing the ball a perfect addition to the bowling attack
