If WI wins the series 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1, England drops to 4th behind Pakistan. If it is 3-0 to WI, England drops to 5th behind NZ.

If the series is drawn 0-0 or 1-1 England stays 3rd but would drop behind Pakistan if Pakistan beats Bangladesh. Also if England wins 2-1 or 1-0 they would drop to 4th if Pakistan whitewashes Bangladesh 2-0. If England wins 3-0 or 2-0 they will stay 3rd regardless of the Pakistan-Bangladesh result.

I hope that is clear. Whatever happens WI stay in 8th.

Thanks Ratings Predictor
If Pakistan wins the 2nd test against Bangladesh, England will drop to 4th

I'd rather have Hope playing out of position opening than even being to consider Charles. The guy is so far away from being test standard it's not even funny.
His technique has improved over the last year and he got some big hundreds for Winwards this year as a result. I like to think of him as a poor man's Warner :D .

I reckon 1-1 with one test of each side collapsing to pace and a high scoring draw with Root/Bell etc going big then Chanderpaul batting for 5 sessions
Almost got it right (should've written Holder instead of Chanderpaul)

I really hop Shiv can get some big scores against Australia

It had disturbing echoes of ODI selections of the 1990s. None of Stokes, Jordan and Moeen performed at a Test standard with either bat or ball in this Test series, and with Trott a passenger, you can't win a game with seven players.
It seems (dare I say) very bits and pieces. I don't know if Buttler is a great test keeper either (great finisher to an innings tho). When your bowling isn't great you need your best keeper for 1/2 chances and also need Jordan in the slips at any time he's not bowling

I really hope he has a different approach to the longer format because every time I see him in ODIs he looks like a complete hack. Murders it when there's nothing going for the bowlers at times, but he plays a hell lot of low percentage shots and has abysmal technique.

And yes, Graves is a charmless ****. Seeing his comments thrown back at him was probably the one aspect of this performance that I actually enjoyed.
I think deep down we all feel the same. Doubt it will stop him making statements like that in future though.

All in all i'm absolutely delighted with what i've seen here and the truth is even though the likes of Hendrix might believe we have a "mediocre side" the fact is we're in a rebuilding phase and half the side are 23 or under so we can only get better at the end of the day.
Did you bother to read the rest of my post? Or any of my posts in this thread?

I've been championing Holder, Roach, Taylor, Blackwood and Brathwaite the whole time.

Wow all the numpties coming out of the woodwork to have a go at Stokes? Seriously?

His batting was okay in this series, his stats don't look anything exceptional because the situation dictated he had to throw his bat a bit in most of the innings. His bowling was unlucky and he was used the most on the flattest pitches and the least when it actually did something or when the ball was even remotely new. He was always going to peripheral the way he was used. The sub-continent type conditions are the least favourable for his cricket anyway. The responsibility ultimately lies with the 3 main seamers, the main spinner and the front line batting,

It would be absolutely ludicrous to drop him. He's bought himself a prolonged run in the side and hopefully he'll be given responsibility in England.

His first series:

Cricket Records | The Ashes, 2013/14 - England | Records | Batting and bowling averages | ESPN Cricinfo

Best batsman and only outbowled by Broad. As for Woakes and Jordan they did absolutely nothing in the first place to move ahead of Stokes and that hasn't changed. Only England could **** about so much with their best bat and second best bowler in the Ashes. He's been at least serviceable in one of batting or bowling since. He seems to be a victim of the fact that he can do both so if one's not firing he should be dropped. What a load of bollocks.

As for comparisons with Ealham, Ben Hollioake etc. - utterly ridiculous. They were limited players. Stokes has the raw ingredients to be a top class batsman or bowler.

The main batsmen need to bat better, simple as that. England also need to back the CC. What more can you expect Lyth to do?

When did your ban end
Man don't do this.

You know how this will go.

WW will make excuses. You will try to call him out on it. He will be smug and annoying and provocative without breaking the rules. You will call him names out of frustration of not wanting to play his game. He will report you. Others will weigh in. Another thread will be derailed with a mess of a cat fight with handbags and infractions everywhere. Someone will take a ban. Mods will issue warnings. And it will all stop until WI do something else good on the cricket field, at which point WW will return and this all will go down again.

Don't go flashing at deliveries you can leave alone. Just sit back at admire his posting like I do. Life's more fun that way.

What a shock scaly has a rant that spouts utter garbage. He must have his tongue so far up Stokes arse he can clean his teeth for him if he thinks his performances have been "Serviceable" in the last year.

Did I just read Johnson bloody Charles get suggested?
Just to clarify, I was referring to Leon Johnson rather than Johnson Charles when I suggested "Johnson".

WW did suggest Johnson Charles though. He did manage to score his first FC hundred and finally get his average over 20 in December, so he's improving.. :p

As opposed to yours and a few others' irrational hatred for him.

Every other country can see what a massive player Stokes could be. Yet in England the haters are out in force because he's a grumpy ginger northerner. The only thing stopping him from becoming England's most important player is the bit between his ears and the English ****wit brigade who're too busy pissing him about and attacking him for no particular reason.

How many all-rounders could play as well as he did in the Ashes, bowl consistently at 90mph with decent control and have to put up with this ****e from the press and the 'supporters'.

He's not even 24 yet. Stokes is the only way England will get above mediocrity in the next 5 years. So we may as well back him, give him the responsibility and criticise him if he does something stupid or doesn't try hard enough. He's our only hope. For an all-rounder starting out in Test cricket he's done fine. Most start off inauspiciously and it just clicks for them.

Meanwhile the England captain is whining about the new chairman calling a mediocre West Indies side mediocre. Bloody hell. England needs to wake up and get on with the clear out.

You ruin your own case for him by pointing out he has nothing between the ears, until he sorts that out he is a liability. He got wound up and comprehensively lost the battle with Samuels and if you think backing a guy who since the ashes averages 22 with the bat and 48 with the ball then you have to admit you just have bias towards him as plays for your county. Those stats are awful and sum up how he has played for the last year.
