No one listens to The Game? I much prefer it to Football Weekly, though I do particularly like Marcotti and his style of humour.

Haven't listened to the Second Captains, will give it a go.

What a dire squad they have managed to end up with as well. Wonder what sort of money players like Brown and O'Shea are on.
Never agreed with Scaly 100% that experience is a myth but I definitely think it's awful policy for rubbish clubs to buy old players like those and Ferdinand. They demand much higher wages than someone in the early 20s and have no prospect of actually getting better.

Always found the Game kind of dull, nothing really wrong with it but I just forget it exists.
To each their own I guess. Prefer the structure of The Game, 2 or 3 in depth discussions about important games, a debate about an interesting topic a bit outside the box, then some quick hits. No 15 minutes of Glendenning telling us about how hammered he got on the weekend or about him and Max Rushden doing something very funny.

That said Alyson Rudd is a complete idiot and never contributes anything of worth so I guess that sort of evens it out.

Ah, I'd never heard of so-called "bubble matches" before. Lame.

However, whilst this is pretty dire, there's nothing obviously unlawful about such measures. The article is obviously written by someone who has no knowledge of human rights law.
Didn't pick that article for the legal stance FTR, just the first I found that explained what they were

Why on earth is it legal to treat people this way would be my question? Appalling.

Ah fair enough.

Human Rights law in Europe is rife with things like this though. Nearly every legally enshrined "right" we have under the European Convention on Human Rights has a disclaimer that basically boils down to "The state may suspend the operation of such rights if it is deemed necessary to do so to preserve the life of the nation/prevent public disorder", which neatly explains why these sorts of measures are legally permissible.

i know one of them actually got a pay rise to take that move, and he was already on about £50k a week at Utd. Suppose Sunderland need to splash out to attract people to that **** hole

One suspects the likes of Larsson, Fletcher, Johnson (though I suppose he may soon be sacked for gross misconduct), Graham, Giaccherini and Defoe will be on big money as well.

In fact, having just had a look at the size of their squad, it's not really all that big, relatively speaking. A handful of their players must be earning an absolute bomb if their wage bill really is that high.

Really hope they go down to be honest. Had enough of them stinking out the league whilst not offering anything amusing in return.
