We always got the green ones which we called capsicum. Last few years we get the red and yellow ones which are far better in quality and we call bell pepper. They are probably imported and so better quality.
Nah, it's just that yellow and red peppers taste better than green peppers.

In case anyone feels we have derailed the thread, we technically are talking about sangas.

Threads like this make CW worth visiting tbh. Heard hitting comparisons of KP's bowling vs. Sanga's Ashes Record, with breath-taking revelations on how Capsicums suck in India. Plus I learnt some Subways offer cucumbers.

Sanga and Ponting is a meaningful comparison.Apart from the 05 ashes Kp hasnt done much.On the other had Sanga is a legend, better than Sachin and Ponting.Since most of Sri Lanka matches go un noticed,Sanga doesn't receive much credit. In contrast a century in Ashes tend others speaking about you for ages.Sanga IMHO is the most underrated cricketer of alltimes

while this is true, kp's highest actual score is against australia while notorious minnow basher sanga's is against the 'Desh
What about Sachin then?his highest score too is again India, well apparently mate u know nothing about Sanga.Did u ever see Sanga's 192 @Hobart he was wrongly given out by Rudi. A double century in NZ,Century at Lords, match winning century in South Africa.Sanga had played only 4 matches in Australia before 2013,shows how rarely we play there. If not for that Sangas averages would have been mind blowing.Sanga perhaps is the most complete batsman of all times and the most respected. You should be ashamed of what you just said. How about Pietersen in the SC,his stats aren't that and what's more Ponting averages in the mid twenties in India.Don't u see the oddity there?Guess you're blindfolded on the struggles of Australian batsmen in the subcontinent.

The opposition for a player's highest career score is such a poor way of differentiating players. Tendulkar/Sanga/Hayden didn't become lesser players the moment they registered their highest personal score against a minnow. Kallis didn't become a lesser player when his long awaited double century came against the might of the Indian bowling. At most one can discount those scores, but not penalize them for it.

Here's a food thought, I think what affects people's thinking that Sangakkara is not as good as some of the other ATG batsmen is that a lot of his most talked about knocks has come in games where other batmen (either from his own team, or opposition, or both) has also managed to put up big scores, Whether it be the 192 vs. Australia, 147 vs. England, or even recently 203 vs. New Zealand and etc.

Even his world cup success recently, which enhanced his reputation a whole lot more, follows this trend somewhat.

Now in a career that's spanned so long he has probably done the vice-versa as well, and other ATG has probably done what I'm describing above a fair bit as well. But I have a feeling it's happened quite a bit more in Sangakkra's case. I'm too lazy to look this up and confirm if I'm right or wrong in this at the moment, but definitely thought it was a worthwhile discussion to throw out there.

IIRC Sri Lanka have a 100% series loss rate in Australia and South Africa and a pretty dreadful record in India. I think that'll affect perceptions of him because he doesn't have a big series defining knock in any of those countries. He's had great innings, but nothing that's ultimately been that important.

Well it's still not his fault the team around him is ultimately not good enough, he's been a big factor in pretty much every overseas win though, think NZ 2006, SA Boxing day 2011, the whole England tour last year ect, I think the standard needs to shift a little for Sanga because of the team, his double century in NZ would have been match-winning for a lot of teams, but SL simply didn't have the bowling to finish the job, something he couldn't control.

But yeah I agree perceptions will be affected by these types of things

So when did Tendulkar have such one in SL against SL? May be in 1994 when we were closer to minnows rather than full test team, but nothing afterwards. Do Tendulkar have such series defining knock against SAF or one in Australia? But he's considered best in the modern age. Lara amassed 600 runs in a series against us, but still lost 3-0, and that could not define the series. So what's the point on series defining knocks?
