Any info on how long the rain is here for?
Not sure. About 10ks from Eden Park it's not raining and doesn't feel like it will. One of those typical Auckland days where it could piss down or just sit there and do nothing.

I'd expect play to start again very shortly with no reduction in overs.

NZ have dodged a huge bullet there. It was going to be a very big score.

For those who were saying NZ could "easily" chase 350 odd, pull your heads in. There's no such hing as an "easy" chase of that magnitude against a WC semi finalist.

faf particularly, deserves some credit
Definitely. AB will get the plaudits but..

Easy to panic when someone is 30 off 64 but there is enough value for shots on this wicket and ground later on. Smart cricketer and seems to rise to the occasion when required to knuckle down.

they are 216/3 after 38 overs. They're not even going at 6 an over. To get 350 from here would be absolutely outstanding. They might get to 330 if AB and Faf stay in for the whole innings.

If Faf and Ab stay till the end they're getting a lot more. Seriously if AB bats till the end, NZ are dead.

Can't find the rules on ICC about reserve days and whether they constitute a brand new match, or if partial, at what stage.

Anyone confirm this?

no way, can say with some confidence that if no wicket falls until the end of the innings then they'll get over 350.

Just a recap of the playing conditions. We begin losing overs only after an hour's play is lost. In case the match is not completed today, we have a reserve day tomorrow with play resuming from where it stops. If we have lost overs today, and then a further interruption pushes us into tomorrow, the match will continue to be a curtailed one. If over two days we don't get a result, New Zealand will go through by the virtue of having finished higher in the group stages
