Interesting Doully mentioning Pukekura Park. Any of you fellas been there, or even better, played there?

I've heard it described as 'cricket heaven' by Martin Crowe I think it was, but never been there myself.

used to go and watch all the time. ross taylor's slog sweeps are crowd killers because of the high bank/terrace things you sit on. they come at your face.

Haha have you never seen any of the T20 games there? Bloody brilliant. Jimmy Neesham's televised debut was at Pukekura. KNB and Rossco smashing sixes into the terraced banks was so gun.

I went there countless times in the early 2000s when I lived in Wellington and used to drive up for domestic matches. Great ground for watching cricket, and I thought it was a real shame when it wasn't on the list of venues for the World Cup. Perfect capacity for some of the associate games .

Watched one domestic T20 game CD vs ND. ND batted first and got 180 odd, Taylor went beserk and got 80 off 30 or something. Ridiculous boundaries but the aztec grandstands are gun.

bring in kyle mills or mitch m for milne. can't do any harm, mills is pretty economical, and mitch m is a proven wicket taker(ave for both is under 30)

esp for BANG game, best to give mitch m and kyle mills some game time against a decent batting unit before QF.

keep southee, due to his 7 wicket haul vs england in the first game.

Mills needs the new ball and to bowl out before the 30th, doesn't really work with Boult and Southee being the preferred (and better) partnership.
McClenenen is probably a more viable wicket taker but is arguably even looser than Milne.
Milne stays on IMO.

Yeah I've played before. Beautiful ground, it's just wayyyyy too small. Dion Ebrahim hit me for three sixes in the last over and the biggest one would've barely been 60m maybe.

Yeah seen the odd game on TV, but you don't get the ambiance of sitting in those embankments.

Cheers, need to get myself down there.

Really impressed with how the Afghans have handled all our pace options today. Only really struggled with Dan.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The other day Aus bowlers were operating at 145 to 150 and were impossible to play. Today we have Milne hitting the 150kph mark and the Afg player just dead bats it with ease back to the bowler. All 150kph deliveries are not created equal.
