Just seems a little pointless to talk about their great batting talent and compare it with India's as being a really close thing. Yet when confronted with the hypothetical question of who would replace from the India line-up, you can't even name one. I mean we might as well say the same about Bangladesh's talent while we're there.I don't understand why I would have to replace anyone? I'm talking purely in terms of the talent they posses coming into international cricket. It took Rohit Sharma years before he began to justify the talent he has, Virat Kohli in his first few years was a 20 off 40 and out player. Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa were all given debuts at a young age based on being talented youngsters and dropped soon after, in DK's and Robin's case they still haven't managed to cement a place in the side (although they weren't given as big a leash as Rohit).
You can't be telling me that someone like Umar Akmal can't become as good as the best ODI bats India have at present, I'm not saying he will, but the potential is there. You can just look at England's ODI players and for the longest time they simply didn't have guys who could achieve the next level of batsmenship in limited overs cricket, the Cook, Bell, Ballance, and so many more from previous years and I knew that they were average players who would score occasionally but never had the talent to go beyond it with their limited game.
For me Akmal is probably the only one I can't think of currently who smacks of natural ability yet has really under-performed. Him aside, I don't see Pakistan having this great talent you speak of compared to other sides going around at all.
