Shami has the best figures of any ODI bowler since 2014 iirc and has ripped up against every side he's played in the WC and he has only played test sides.Making Shami look top-drawer here... which is no mean feat.
Reckon he'll be an Ajit agarkar as in that he is much much better with the white ball?Shami has the best figures of any ODI bowler since 2014 iirc and has ripped up against every side he's played in the WC and he has only played test sides.
And if they did away with this ridiculous concept of quarter finals, so joke teams like the West Indies can lose half their pool games, yet could still win a crucial toss, get a bit of luck & knock out an unbeaten team.God this WC would be so much better if we could kick out WI, England and Pakistan.
Yep. I don't exactly see him as having a particularly high ceiling in test cricket even if he achieves it but he has really stepped up so far in LO cricket.Reckon he'll be an Ajit agarkar as in that he is much much better with the white ball?
TBF isn't he india's death bowler? Not exactly the best era to be a death bowler.Much like Agarkar, Shami has a poor ER but amazing strike rate. Has 76 wickets in 42 games.
It's all about money and unfortunately NZ doesn't draw top dollar. Mind you if we were to get a few wins over Oz then there might be an opportunity in the next few years.Yet this team warrants getting the boxing day test over NZ.
Wonder how the organisers will feel when their biggest test of the year is over after 2-3 days?
The irony is England are one side that had the wood on them little more than a month ago in Aust conditions...and there's a good chance they'll face them in the quarter no ?Indian bowling has been so good here. Don't see us losing till we face Australia or NZ if we continue playing like this.
Agree they are a bit scary but this team does seem to have turned the corner here. Will hold India slight favourites against them. The irony is England are one side that had the wood on them little more than a month ago in Aust conditions...and there's a good chance they'll face them in the quarter no ?
Don't buy it tbh. If it was India, then sure..with their huge viewing public, but the Windies? With the sides they roll out today? Can't see the main asian television market finding them any more appealing than NZ. Sure you get some interest in the Windies from North America too, but they're predominately India viewers who would happily watch any international cricket. It's all about money and unfortunately NZ doesn't draw top dollar. Mind you if we were to get a few wins over Oz then there might be an opportunity in the next few years.
glorified warm-ups tbfThe irony is England are one side that had the wood on them little more than a month ago in Aust conditions...and there's a good chance they'll face them in the quarter no ?
Yeah I thought someone might say something like that, but they were still trying to win weren't they?glorified warm-ups tbf
Holy ***, his recent numbers are good I just remember him being decidedly average in the NZ/India ODI series last year and going for over 7 an over IIRC.Shami has the best figures of any ODI bowler since 2014 iirc and has ripped up against every side he's played in the WC and he has only played test sides.
